Even if we knew how many trucks they were making, none of this has a defined effect on our build until we find out for sure if we were scheduled by the time Thursday is said and done.

It's new info for a group of people who are starving for info. I wouldn't really call it arbitrary.

I'm a lifelong Ford driver I've had 9 Ford's in over 30 years this is my second new Ford build. And makes number 10 I'm curious with this delay. How many are going to cancel their order or cancel Ford all together. Mine was ordered on 4th of July I'm in it for the long haul no matter what. Probably get mine in 2022.
I ordered mine on July 5th, I'm here with you for the long haul!!

If you have a build date, don't make any changes! You will likely be moved back in production if you do. They will just build another Lariat Lux and move you back. If you remove something from a package, it is custom and subject to change in production date.
I ordered a Lariat Lux and I am okay with the spray in. I am planning to use a bed mat too.
Once you have a build date and VIN you can't make any changes to your order.

14 % for the XLT with The Luxury Package, hmmm my odds on Prom Night were worse then that, but that went well and I’m sure this will too;) Hey, if we ain’t all laughing we’re all just stressing. And to all my Brothers and Sisters in Arms we don’t need any more stress in our lives at the moment, so look at this as Boot Camp, something we needed to do to get to where we needed (and wanted) to be:) It’s just more “Hurry up and wait” stuff :) Be Well. Our Mavericks (well my Wife’s) will be in our driveways before we we know it.
Ah yes, the hurry up and wait!! My many years of "hurry up and wait" coupled the only constant we were given and that was "changes will happen" have made me more than well equipped to wait out Ford and get my Maverick!

It was a more direct way of saying that customer service ALWAYS comes 1st, and I think cost overruns & mismanagement are already occurring.
So, having to wait for your truck to be built is a customer service issue? Fall begins 22 Sep, right after the autumnal equinox. Ford has NEVER stated trucks would be delivered prior to FALL.

Cost overruns and mismanagement? A majority of the truck is made with existing Ford technology. This is not a "new from the ground up" truck, like the Bronco. There are may articles on the web that state that fact. I am sure you will have no problem finding them. So far, Ford has met their intent. I am sure Ford would have hoped for supply chain issues to be better resolved than they are at this point. Supply chain disruptions have been occurring since early 2020. Economists are saying supply chain issues will be an issue well into 2022.

"Thinking" something is occurring, and "knowing" that something is occurring, and two totally different thoughts, opinion vs fact.

True. But I do feel like Ford may see an advantage in Tesla's model, and that Ford dealership responsibilities, as they were, will start to shrink.
The dealership model is rather dated. Primarily they make their profits from the repair shop, not from car sales. As such, the eventual move to electric vehicles and their lower repair/maintenance costs will cripple that profit center.

I could see manufacturers going to a direct sales model eventually, with authorized third party repair centers, sort of like a franchise model.

But for any of that to happen, it will take a change in the existing laws, and the dealerships have a pretty powerful lobbying body.

So how I interpret this latest news is, if I'm lucky enough to be one of the Hybrid powertrains selected out of the 30% Ford says they are scheduling, I then have to luck out a 2nd time to have my Lariat Lux package scheduled.

I'm am preparing myself for my only stand-alone add-on (moonroof) to soon be added to the list of supply constraints.

I have the most terrible luck when it comes to drawings, raffles, and lotteries. This truck is shaping out to be less like my xmas gift to myself, and more like my birthday gift (May) to myself.

Got my build email for my XL August 12th that says it is scheduled for production the week of October 11th. I have the bed mat. Maybe I got one before they ran out?

Me too - I placed my order on 7/19 with no news. I will accept the tonneau cover later (or decline at delivery) but I ordered a Lariat Lux Hybrid so I have to wait it out.
I ordered mine on 8/27 as well. Lariat Lux Hybrid, First Edition, mud flaps and smoke hood protector. I hope it is before the first of the year as I pre traded my 2014 truck, F150 Lariat 4 door 53K. The dealer has it and I am down to my wife's CX-5 Mazda. But I am retired.

Ordering that late, I doubt you will see it before spring. I ORDERED 7-20-21, and I do not expect it before then because of the number of orders(>100,000). If a person cancels an order , the dealer will just keep it in the system and sell it for market price when it arrives.

I have a Colorado with a factory spray-in liner that has a big bow-tie in it. Can''t say I've noticed it more than once or twice.
Yeah, why I said "most people probably don't care". You never know though...

I wonder if a dealer can legitimately keep a person's order if they have canceled it. The dealer would have to refund the deposit, if one was made. I would hope that if the dealer did keep the order on the books that other people who are waiting get their orders bumped up above this canceled order.

I have a VIN but no build date. Normally once you get a VIN the build date is two weeks away. XLT/2.0T/AWD/LUX/TOW/FX4 with sliding rear window. As I have the VIN I can't change a thing.

This is really frustrating.
How did you get a VIN if you don’t have a build date, thought you only got a VIN when you got your scheduled build date email???

Its less about getting pissed as it is just hoping to get in line. I've got a terminal date of January 2022 - At that point I am getting a new vehicle, Maverick or not.

That's a ways off, of course, but the car I'm in now can also fail at any time. Because I fixed it. And I guarantee that if I had fixed your car, you'd to chomping at the bit for a replacement as soon as practical as well.
I get it. The power steering pump on my 31 year old truck is flaking. I'm not fixing it because it would cost more than the truck is worth.

Still, I was told by the dealer maybe late October, more likely November. And I know they want the rest of the $22K the truck will cost as fast as they can get it.

Complaining about the roll out of this truck at this point is like people seeing a line 10 deep at my shop and complaining that it took 20 minutes to get their drink. Yeah, it did. If we do everything perfectly it takes a minute and a half to make a latte.

I'll cut Ford the same slack I expect our customers to cut us.

Especially since a truck is infinitely more complex than a latte.

Canada is different. No emails for one, VIN came from dealer. I'm in order processing, which is the phase before scheduling.
