Interesting that it says dealer allocation plays a significant role in our ability to schedule customer orders. So I guess the bigger the dealership the better? Or maybe not? Who knows, lol.
You can order any color you want as long as it is black or white. You can order any accessory you want but it may be 2025 before we can deliver it. Go to Cargurus.com and pick and buy it faster some with as little as 600 miles. All Prices Jacked Up. But if you want an eco boost just get a Ranger, lower price , more payload or just wish for a surprise delivery.

This is more information than we've ever seen from an official Ford site. Why has it taken them so long to use this kind of communication method?
https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/owner-resources/sales-support/2023-maverick-retail-order-faqs/
It's aggravating to see the last four constricted items. Those are items that my dealer told me he can order from Parts and the longest wait would be 14 days (tonneau cover). Otherwise, a 3-4 day wait.

Why would Ford hold up a sale for stuff the dealer can order and install? Arg!

Some dealers are accepting pre-orders so you will not have to wait around for the order bank to open. Also, some dealers do not require a down payment. That varies from dealer to dealer.

Ford wants confusion, They want to change the business model. They could have been out with this information a weeks ago. Rolled 2022 orders then a week later new 2023 Orders .They could have actually had the guides out and not laid off thousands two weeks ago.
That would make too much sense.

Side note.. a friend of mine was 5 months away from being with Ford for 30 years and got caught up in those layoffs

I don't think it matters a whole lot as no one knows which "dealers nest" the allocating hens will choose to lay their eggs in?

That's what I did at my dealer.

It sure is annoying, and even more so after they said precisely the opposite just a few weeks ago.

Why can't they just treat us all equally?

Allocations and priority codes and allowing the new order bank to open on the same day we're trying to convert 22 orders to 23 all add up to unequal treatment of people trying to do the same thing: give Ford money!

They won’t let you ask additional questions.
I tried to leave feedback, and it wouldn't accept it. Basically like a webpage telling you to shut up.

I was worried when my order got scheduled that I was going to be missing out on something with the 2023s. Now I see that I am missing out on nothing whatsoever.

I guess the one good thing is that Ford is being very up front what will hold up your 2023 order, so at least you can plan accordingly.

Fords a shitbag company. People who waited months if not over a year for a vehicle and then throwing it all the wolves

Answers the questions that dealer allocations are still an issue. Thought Ford had said they would be less of an issue. Why on customer ordered vehicles this still plays a role confounds me.
Well, this actually makes sense. You see, the assembly plant can only make so many vehicles so fast. So, lets you use simple numbers. Lets say they can make 10,000 vehicles a year, that's about 192 a week. (completely made up numbers.) But every dealership should be able to get some.

There are "stock" orders and "retail" orders. "stock" orders are what a dealership orders for their lot, which they can add any markup they want. Used Mavericks on lots now are going for well over 10K over MSRP. "Retail" orders are for costumers that have paid a deposit and goes to them by-name. Some dealerships don't charge markups on retail orders. Mine doesn't.

So, Dealers generally prefer stock orders, as they can charge more for the vehicles. If their allocations are only limited to stock orders, then they could order as many retail orders as they wanted. They could have "Friends" order them, then say the customer "Backed Out" once it's delivered to the dealership. If it's a first-order-first-deliver model, then this would lead to a situation where some dealerships could order 5,000 Retail orders first thing in the morning. (TOTALLY made up and exaggerated to make my point), If that was the case, then the first 5,000 vehicles off the line would go to that dealership. This would, in turn, make it so other dealerships would have to wait forever to have an order delivered. Whoever orders the most first is the early bird and gets the worm.

Allocations are meant to help the smaller dealerships and spread the Ford product throughout all dealerships. This is so the large mega-dealerships can't hoard all the vehicles, run the smaller ones out of business and the product can get disseminated to all parts of the country.

So, with retail orders counting against their allocations, this creates a " Production Dam" so to speak, where the can control the flow of vehicles coming out of the assembly line and make sure they are equally dispersed throughout the country. Lets say a dealership has 5 allotments and there are 20 people in line to order. The dealership will have to order 5 a week, for 4 weeks. All retail and no stock orders.

Jim Farley has said he hates that dealership are charging 10K+ over MSRP and has addressed this through By-Name ordering, but the allocation process also helps to stem this.

It's not a perfect system, but I feel it's understandable, especially considering the overwhelming demand for the Maverick combined with limited production capability.

The only thing I can say is be the first in line at your dealership tomorrow morning.
Be the early bird and go get your worm!

The bank wound up selling if I remember right five times and then her department was reorganized in August of the year she was going to retire. Her boss called her into his office to tell her that since she had 44 years seniority she still had a job but he had to lay four others off. She told him that she was going to retire at end of year and to give her job to one of the others. He said he would have to check because he would still have to lay off 4. Couple days later he called her in and said if you don't mind being fired your termination package will be pretty good. She said ok fire me. She got 66 months pay and stayed on company heath ins during that time since it was paid monthly just like she was working. But she lost company car as well as match into 401K, but who cares! She did pretty good taking a summer job after high school at a small town bank and quitting after three years and moving to a larger bank in a larger town for $160/month, working up to vp/dept head by OJT and getting a certificate of competency by taking a test with no college degree!🤗

Great my two dealers. In the area. I I have Missouri and Illinois dealer. Both small and I think neither one got over 20 allocations last year. Meanwhile 400 delivered for LMAF. Should I just place a order with everyone.
