280 HP 2023 Maverick?

I thought this video was rather good on the Ford Company and Maverick information. But I’m a little skeptical about the 280 hp he claims (at time line 2:10 in the video) for the 2023’s. Would be nice if it happens since I’m most likely not going to get a 22, (1/22 order).

Why not? The GM LFN 2.0T (Cobalt SS motor) put out 260 horsepower, and that was a decade ago. 280hp isn't an absurd amount for a 2.0T motor.


Edit: I forgot about the Stage 1 kit that did 290hp. No reason Ford can't squeak 280 out of their Ecoboost if they use a larger turbo.

Not much noticable. I'm probably getting converted, I hope they've addressed the 1st year growing pains with some quality upgrades.

Would make sense for em to pull a last minute suprise for the Tremor, but in reality its probably for the ST model debuting possibly next spring. Whatever they do the ST wont be lighter than a XL 2.0 and without a power bump its just a S10 Extreme.

The current traction motor in the hybrid is rated at 130hp, so Ford should just double the battery in the hybrid, upgrade the electrical to deliver it the necessary juice, and make the hybrid 280hp (150 ICE + 130 Electrical).

I have a feeling the performance model will be hybrid. Why not it goes with the electrification theme of the moment.

Just need to call up Cervini and have em make some ground effects for ya. Maybe throw on a strut tower brace and I think I remember someone talking about a swaybar upgrade.
