A refresh later than sooner since the new 2023 Ranger looks like the Mav's big brother. Just $$ more for a high demand product.

Things I would like to see for 2023 since this is what I would be getting....

  • larger screen with sync 4 - I would be willing to go to a Lariat if this happened, currently it will be XLT.
  • STX/Sport type package I had a 2009 F150 STX and loved the package - if I were to get a F150 that would be my package, but would like the option to have the larger screen.
  • Push button start on a lower trim
Wishful thinking I'm sure on some of these, but given that it's a hit that sold more than they can produce I am sure they will be looking at ways to expand

To ensure your complete satisfaction, we will require additional time before your 2023 Maverick is delivered. Your vehicle’s previous estimated delivery range of October, and December, 2022, has been updated to between March, 2023, and May, 2023. Your loyalty, dedication and unwaiver patience is the reason we are in business. Thank you! FMOCO

Lumbar would be nice.. No way to do underbed storage. Rear window defogger is not required for a small truck cab, but some would like it Im sure.

AWD Hybrid in Rapid Red with black & grey interior, and Homelink.

A Plug-in Hybrid would be even better. If it could go 50 miles on battery power I might never have to buy another gallon of gas.

EDIT: I've put another 30 - 40 seconds of thought into this and want to add Sync 4, and a rear window defroster to my list of improvements for 2023.
Couldn’t they just double the battery size under the back seat? Don’t need that space, would rather have more miles.

From what I've been told Honda has a patent on the in bed storage and Hyundai pays a royalty to them for using that kind of system on the Santa Cruz

Wouldn't be nice if Ford release a statement regarding the delay that if you (us) won't mind waiting for a year, would upgrade you (us) to a 2023 model with an awd hybrid and fixed gas tank issue with no additional charge.

Customers will be happy. Ford will be happy with its sales. Investors will be happy with their stocks!

Take a little loss now, redeem the Ford name, and get back profit ten fold!

On a side note, I would love to see push button, DRL, and automatic folding mirrors for easy parking. Drop the Auto hold and Lane keeping assist along the useles FITS system. Maybe a little better interior material for the Lariat to set it apart. Cooled seats and maybe bird's eye view as well.

Only some possible observed issues that can be modified easily will change (like hood rattle, door jamb, better paint?) that people say they have issues with.

Technical changes in design? No.

2024 might see a phev option. An awd hybrid option. Maybe switch to a la cart options and not one size fits all packages.

The big thing I think will be determined by just how many base XL models get sold. If no one is buying them they might phase out the XL entirely and just go with XLT to increase the minimum price they'll make per sale.

And me personally I think a lot of the shortages are the number of lariat, luxury, and hybrid sales were far higher than they were expecting. And it's swamped their supply chain when they were projecting maybe a lot more base models with few add-ons

As a 1st gen Scion xB driver awaiting my Maverick hybrid, I hope they don't mess up the way they messed up with the 2nd gen xB.

Re Maverick upgrades, and in a complete pipe dream of course, it'd be nice to have:
- Extra cab option with sideways sitting fold down seats like the old Rangers - allowing for a longer bed
- A one piece rear window that rolls down completely like the Tundra's used to - don't know why this hasn't been done more. With a bed topper and dogs in the back, it'd be nice to share the a/c and heat. Would also be nice to pass through long pieces of wood/metal etc.
- All other hopes and dreams have been mentioned previously in the thread.

Easiest update I could see is the removal of the cubby next to the screen and filling out that whole space with screen

I feel like hybrid AWD/PHEV are at least 2024 or so, with 2022 orders being suspended relatively early I doubt they're going to innovate super hard when the main goal is just getting units made and shipped

2nd battery for AWD Hybrid. Electric only rear drive. $40k for AWD Hybrid.

Bigger center touchscreen with no weird cubby. Sync 4 base software.

Price increases for all trim levels.

I will miss the back window on my 2005 Sport Trac. The one on the Maverick is a joke.
