I would be interested to see a survey to find out the age group(s) of people who favor all forms of hybrids. Are they mostly GEN X for example.

Shouldn't you be out rollin' coal or something?

Total (EV) vehicles, there is nothing practical about them, range, cost, charging stations ect, just another brain dead idea by our infamous incognitive leader. Not reality at all.

I think it's more closely correlated to intelligence than birthdate.

We are at the "wright flyer" stage or maybe a bit past. I'll wait until they hit the jet age, thank you. Hybrids are the immediate future.

I have a colleague, in his mid-30s with a PhD from MIT, who recently sold his Mach-E GT. Really wanted to love his EV, but it simply did not work well for his situation (can't charge at home and a lot of his miles are on long road trips). An EV works great for us (and our hybrid Maverick is likely our last non-BEV vehicle), but this is absolutely not the case for everybody - intelligence is totally irrelevant.

In my case, an EV would work fine, I typically drive less than 50 miles a day, and 2x a year I drive to the other coast (of Florida, about 120 miles each way) to fly out of Fort Lauderdale.

I have a garage I can keep it in, and have solar on my house.

I'd be fine with it, wife still has an ICE Challenger if we need to take longer drives, since it's a very comfortable ride.

EV are fine for commuting distances, but I don't think I would like to stand around waiting for it to charge. Not only that but an EV maverick with a range of 300ish miles would probably start in the $35-40k range because of the battery costs.

Now a plug in hybrid with say 80 EV miles would be amazing. Especially if they could bring it to market at say 25k for a base XL. They would own the market with something like that if they could figure out a way to turn a profit.
That price range, lmao. Technology and batteries aren’t cheap. If it was that easy everyone would have one.

Which? I suspect $35-40k is not far off for a base EV Maverick. Seeing how the F150 lighting work package was around $40k when it was first introduced.

Yes, but more so if it was a plug-in hybrid similar to the Toyota RAV4 Prime. EVs still don't have enough range to make me all in.
Edit: I wonder how much battery drain I'd have pulling a small trailer with an EV.
With the Plug-in, I have concerns about the ICE. My commute is only 23 miles. If electric range was 40, I would never use the ICE, as I would be able to plug in at work. ICE needs to be use just like muscles. I have a FE FWD and I am happy. Getting 50+ MPG on my commute. I would not trade for plug-in, but would for an EV. I have a Pilot for my "heavy" moving. It was easier to move the kids from/to college.

Would I buy a full EV?
In short no.
It's just not feasible. Too short of range and too long of charging.
A plug in hybrid? Yes probably. But a full EV? Not unless they cut charging time from near 0 to 100 to like 15 min.
