Carryovers are supposed to be ranked by original order date so they will take precedence over MY23 orders even if 'rolled over' later. I think it would be very optimistic for Ford to think all MY22 orders will show up at the dealer and get processed on the 2nd. People on this forum might, others? Not so much. So they open up the order banks and slot MY22 orders in front whenever somebody does come in to do a 'roll over'.
Hopefully

Roger that.

The scary thing is all the folks on Facebook etc saying that their MY22 will just roll over automatically. Or not even knowing there is a chance their truck will not get built.

Hard to tell if this is poor dealer communication, the dealer never actually COVP'd the order, Ford lost their email or they are just clueless. But regardless Ford and the dealers have done a poor job of communications with this whole mess. If Ford wants to change how things are done they need to dramatically change their communications skills. And that (I think) will take a complete corporate culture change. Not going to be easy.

CRC got my dealer GM on conference call Thursday and I was told opposite 1) orders do roll, and 2) to change dealers I would need to cancel and reorder... and lose priority and private offers.

I think for the most part you are spot on with your assessment.

I've worked at numerous dealerships and all manufacturers seem to suck at communication to the dealership level, and quite often at internal levels too.
Now, I put off my Maverick order last year and have decided to place an order for a '23 when the banks open. Neither my salesman nor our GM claim to have heard anything about when that is supposed to be. I mentioned the 8/2 date and just get shrugs and the replay, "It could be."
And this apparent delay could be understandable given the state of parts supply and production issues, but as we approach the next MY should they all have at least the same idea of a date, even if it's noted as "subject to change." After all, don't potential customers have a need to know if they should wait or give up all hope and opt for something else?

New to the forum. Looking for some advice here. I'm planning on ordering a 2023 XLT hybrid ASAP. Looking to just add in the spray in bed liner, floor mats, and the 400W outlet. Will I be able to order this online on August 2nd? And does anyone have any advice on ordering online vs in person at a dealership?
Seriously consider ordering the Trailer Hitch/Tow Package, it was only around $100 bucks or so in MY22. Never know when ya might need it. Its WAAAAY more expensive to add later on

Can't wait to see the options I wanted on my MY22 truck disappear for MY23. Sorry, Ford, I'm not a team player.

I would feel confident that the information was sent to dealers via internal email or some other means. But I also suspect a lot of people at dealers simply don't read those bulletins. I know sales is a tough job but I'm usually astonished at how little salespeople know about the product they are selling. And that's not just cars, its the same in almost any industry. Salespeople are taught to sell, knowing things is extra work and usually not needed so why bother.
It is a rare gem to find someone (like Tim Bartz @fordvideoguy ) who can sell, are enthusiastic about what they are selling and really try hard to have the knowledge needed. That takes commitment beyond just punching a time clock every morning.

Nix the spibl and maybe the floor mats if you want to get the truck faster.

Same here but I don't want to be seeing no rear split bench or rattler option available for MY23 :)
If anything, they will remove restrained items from packages, charge more for said constraint items separately and Mebbe add another trim which will delayed and possibly rolled over to MY24 😕

It's possible but working at a Ford dealership I have performed searches for information on actual dealer access Ford site for the 2023 Maverick and have not had anything show up yet. And this isn't to say some other communication has gone out to dealerships. I am definitely going to keep on them for information as I want my order in on day one, and I've already told them that.

Well that puts it squarely back on Ford. I assumed their poor communications with retail customers was because they consider dealers to be their customers and focused on communicating with them. If they are not even doing that then I don't know what to say. They are going to struggle in a fast moving, connected, engaged world.

Anyone noticed anything different on the configurator? This is the '22 build XL

This hot spot delete seems like a new option... And the non hybrid engine seems like it's less of a price increase

I've noticed the removal of the 4G LTE access but not the price drop for the 2.0L. I'll have to play around in there and see where my ideal build falls in price. I thought it was different than it was before.

Well, I have my own beefs on Ford's willingness to provide their dealership service operations with information, but it's also a problem that other manufacturers I've worked for(Toyota) also had. Somewhere there are disconnects which leave us in the dark on products, parts, and service information, as though we don't need this information the day these vehicles start leaving the factory -- and in some cases, a year later.

Isn't THAT the truth....

Wonder if it would be good for someone in the "know" to put up a list of what needs to be done properly to get your MY22 order (assuming you have one) redone as a MY23 order on Aug 2 and also how to get an order for MY23 for those of us who did not get a MY22 order inputted as expeditiously as possible. Hate to ask Tim but he seems to be by far the most in the know.
