Yeah AC goes pretty hard in mine, except on extremely hot days today where it's nearly 100 degrees, the temperature set to 74/75 feels about right. But on 80-degree days I personally set it to like 83/84 to get comfortable and not feel too cold. I run kinda cold anyway though so I may not be the best judge of this.

Ok, that's like mine, its different, I do run mine at 73-75 when I first get in when its 100. Then after the vehicle cools down I turn it up to 77-78°, which is weird cause the interior is not 77, like 73. I could see turning it up to 80s. I am going to try to go up to 80.

Have you seen where it stops cooling at what temp? If at all? 85 or 90, or do we just have to pwr AC off for it to stop cooling function? Interesting

So so close. But the last 50 miles was with a trailer. So the mpg dropped just enough to keep me short of 600. The mte is based off the last 100 or so.

With the new tank went 53 miles at 37mpg while pulling about 1000 pounds. Should get it back into the 45 range in no time.

I am currently averaging 41.9 miles per gallon on my XLT Hybrid.
I drive 36 miles round trip to work each day. If nothing changes I can get to work and back for 18 days before needing gas. Amazing!

That really is the great feeling about the mpg. I got gas this morning and am at 3400 miles. Bought gas 6 times now. My old car I got gas every 200-300 miles. And was only getting 23-25mpg. Now I'm disappointed I didn't get 600 miles on 14 gallons.

So here we are, five miles from officially getting 600 miles per tank on the hybrid with a little left in the tank…. Anyone else approaching 600 miles per tank? ( yes I realize driving style and conditions vary, but hey…it’s still great mileage)

Yes, I have not dropped below 600 miles per tank, I am on my third tank since delivery. 1500 miles.
60 miles per day commute at 55 mph, still averaging 42.0 combined.

My drive to work is so short (5-6 min) that it takes me half the drive to even get the battery fully useful so I’m only averaging 40 on the nose. This thread is driving me nuts seeing all of your numbers 😂

Anytime I actually go for a 15 minute drive or so my mpg is so much better.

Gos, you just presented a very important point, on a regular ICE, that kind of driving would drive the engine into the ground, The engines need to run a good 20 minutes to boil the condensation out of the engine oil. Its important that once a week? you drive a good 20 minute trip to take care of this.

The lack of running it, only momentarily, will keep the condensation levels from building up, to begin with?

Can you explain more about condensation in the engine oil? I'm skeptical that this is significant for people who drive multiple times daily, but still get bad MPG's on short trips with cold engine, like clockwork. (Me)

I have had a vague notion that it's about the engine block, oil, and coolant, lubrication elsewhere all absorbing a lot of the generated heat in the first couple miles off a cold engine. This cold engine condition means friction is increased, and more fuel is expended to overcome the non-optimal operating conditions. But I haven't heard about condensation in oil being part of that normal issue. But I also don't really know *#!@ about cars so I learn something new all the time.

Clav, I am absolutely no expert on ANY subject..I know JUST enough to get in trouble on most. In your oil analysis they test for how much H2O is in the oil, you r right heat cycling and short trips where the oil doesn't get hot enough to 'burn off' the condensation in the inside of the engine will accumulate and takes either a change or some longer engine continuous operation times.

As with all other foreign contamination in the oil, there are levels whereas when met will need to be addressed.

I am new to the 2.5, hybrid arena and am learning as well. I would think it would be a major consideration, as due to the operating conditions/cycling of the ICE. I have only looked over a few 2.5 OA I did not look at water content, I will now. Maybe the fact that the engine stays hot and doesn't stay off long, acts as a continuous operation and is enough to burn off?

My thoughts...tell me what you think

I just had my first road trip and hit the 600mi+ per tank at 44.5mpg combined. I'm pretty impressed really, this is better than I expected!

Those are good numbers. I just hit my 3rd 708mpt out of 4. 13.5g, 19 m left to tank, 393m e mode.

These trucks rule for fuel economy.

I can't wait till fall to see how much AC pulls from fuel economy, I run mine at 75-78°. And thats still cold.

Sorry 36 gal tank get 17.5 - 18.2 mpg sometime more = 600 mile per tank and a little more. Don't care about mpg. 5500 lbs baby just roll over the little cars....lol
Now 6/10/2022, gas here is $5/gallon. It takes $180 for you to go 600 miles. My hybrid Maverick takes $70. Enjoy your gas hog.
