I am hearing a clicking sound when my hybrid is turned off while sitting in truck. It sounds like the doors are locking then unlocking which they are not.
Any ideas what this is?

Hybrids make lots of noises when you turn them off!

Differences in thermal expansion/contraction between metal contact points like screws and shielding in the exhaust system can cause clicking sounds. Most cars do this.

No that is not it. I'm familiar with the metallic expansion/contraction sounds, usually from the muffler system. These are relay switch type clicking sounds coming from the engine compartment. The sound more electronic than mechanical.

Nope, its the electrical system relays and safe guards for the battery

I can be around it hours later (after parking) and hear it doing its thing. I just hope those relays and solenoids have a high duty-cycle.

My Ecoboost also makes the relay noise clicks. Probably not to the extent the Hybrids do. But it can happen any time, but most pronounced for the 3-5 minutes after turning off.

Mine can be sitting there for hours, as soon as I open a door (even rear door) it starts clicking. I'm not sure exactly what its doing... but its doing something!

Hey Ron, mine clicks too any time I walk by it in the garage with keys on me. I guess I'm happy to hear I am I have company with the noise. I have owned mine for a month and just hit 2000 mles. 29 to 31 mpg.

My hybrid does this, when I open the door.
Kind of figured it might be relays doing something.
Turning on lights etc....What I noticed, was a Pop. Owing from speakers, after shutting down, and infotainment screen briefly coming to life, barely showing Ford logo, before fading out. Otherwise, no issues.
