Hi everyone,

I had an order placed in October and I am feeling depressed. Feeling like I'm losing hope. Luckily I am in no rush, riding out the last year of my Prius lease but now I'm starting to think it's just not gonna happen.

Curious if anyone knows if Rangers are seeing the same issue as far as wait times on orders. Originally I really wanted the hybrid but now I'm thinking I could go without it. My commute is really minimal and I don't do a lot of driving.

Been tossing around the idea of placing an order for a Ranger or at least reaching out to my dealer.

Anyone else in the same boat?

About a year ago I test drove a Ranger. I liked it, but didn't love it. The one thing that stuck in my mind was the 'pulsing' when driving at 30-40 mph. On my short test drive it was annoying and
It ended up being a deal breaker for me.
Personally, I'm glad I waited for the Maverick, although I didn't have to wait long for mine, since I bought it off the dealer's lot for MSR.

What do you mean by pulsing? Was that the 2022 model?

What'd you end up paying for the Maverick too? That was another thought for me, if I do like the Ranger and with Maverick prices being so blown up I'm figuring why wait. We'll see though.

If you can afford it for sure. I bought a Maverick and got lucky had it since October. I didn’t care about getting a hybrid or anything I built it to “as much new truck” as as I could sport. My wife bought a badlands bronco sport right after too so hey doing great! But they are hard to come buy. I still want a ranger. Even if I could afford a 150 I’d probably go super ranger off road. Mid size FTW. But I paid less for my Maverick all specked out- a 2wd 2 door ranger was more and I didn’t want so much a month in a payment. To me the Maverick is spectacular, truly. I’ve put the 2 inch lift on it, auto link mirror, speakers, you name it. Still less. I was also able to save thousands just having a truck by being able to haul lumber for redoing my own fence instead of paying someone. Depends on what you want my friend!

The interior of the Ranger is a bit dated, blackish greyish colors. The Maverick is cheerful by comparison IMO. The Ranger has a slightly smaller rear passenger space than the Mav.
I am getting a bit tired of the long Maverick wait but ultimately even my high end Lariat beats a base Ranger in price.
MY22 Rangers may come down in price with a new model 23 Ranger around the corner.
Hope you can hang on to the Maverick, your in a fine position compared to me and the Mav production numbers are getting higher.

Yeah those are great points. Looks like you got the Cactus Gray too, ahh love it.

Similar situation for my wife and I, went in to make my order and she wanted to just take a "peak" at the Bronco Sport. They just so happened to have the one she wanted at another dealer about an hour away. Got her her Bronco for just a hair over MSRP and I'm still stuck in the hole, haha.

Like I said, I have time. Hopefully some magic happens within the year. Get little spurts of being antsy.

Thanks for sharing!

Make sure you drive one first. I did not care for the ride. It bounces a lot on the road. My 2009 Explorer Sport Trac rode a lot better.

Why wouldn't you just wait out your Prius lease before deciding whether or not you should buy the truck you ordered in October? I mean, if that's what you wanted, why not buy it?
