I decided for the active crossover from the Key, but there's plenty of space in the dash underneath tweeters, specially behind the glove box. For the wiring, the easiest way is to identify the wires going to door speaker and tweeter and reuse them, you can run new wires, but specially to the door speaker it's a pain.
Thank you for the response.

Nice, now I have a basis on work off of when I get my Mav, quick question to anyone that can answer. I’m a big fan of bass so any recommendations or will this set up work well?
Me too... I ended up using a Kicker 6.5 sub with a Kicker 500.1 Amp to power it along with the Kicker 200.4 pushing the door/trim speakers (went kicker all around because i hate paper woofers). The bass is honestly a bit intense even for me. The sub fits well under the rear driver-side seat but you do have to remove the plastic bin on that side.

Does anyone know what tool is needed to take off those round white fasteners holding the black panel onto the door? I want to place some kilmat on the door's metal to reduce road noise. On a related subject, is there a video on how to remove the headliner?

Just wondering... is the amp overdriving 300W at 2 ohms the 150W 2 ohm subwoofer? The amp is rated 150W at 4 ohms and 300W at 2 ohms. Just something to consider.

I'm thinking about a similar setup as well, but with a Kicker 46CXA3004 amp to drive 75 watts at 2 ohms for each of the rear speaker upgrades and to bridge the other 2 channels to drive 150W at 2 ohms the 150W 2 ohm sub.

Once I get my Maverick this is the first thing I’m doing. Ordering some good speakers and ripping out the trash. I’m still going to research the subwoofer but I like the idea of having it under the bench seat.
I put at least 1k into my MAZDA3 system and I can see myself doing that again lol

I had this same set in my Mazda. They’re a solid speaker set - YMMV. For me, they are similar to a Hertz k 170. Warm sound, solid tweeter, midrange is ok. Ran them with a jl xd400/4. Did not run them active, used the passive xover.

Do you have any pictures of the install? I am debating between a set up like this or the kicker hideaway

This is a GREAT thread. After reading and taking notes I am looking at doing the Kicker KEY 200.4 paired with a set of JBL GX 6.5 components. Will look at doing the sub later after I figure out what I want to do. Thoughts?

Did you all pull your 12+ source for your Loc from your battery?
I have mine mounted behind the glove box, is there a good 12+ source in the fuse panel or at the head unit?
is the white/red wire at the HU a 12+ source?
Thanks

Yes, yes, and yes…. There’s a good 12+ source in the fuse panel (can’t remember which at the moment) and you can also tap the 12 coming out of the ACM harness (I think it’s white/red)

Rockford Fosgate Punch 6 3/4 fit. Went like an absolute breeze - it took much longer to install the kilmat! Big Ups to you my friend as well as a shout out to BlakesCars2 and cs92lx on YouTube as well. The parts listed here were right on the money- spacers, harness, etc. Quick, overall painless, and affordable upgrade in the bag.

I see those speakers listed as 2 1/4" top mount depth. How much clearance would you say was there to the window track? Is there an extra quarter or half an inch? TIA
