I dont have my Maverick yet (imagine that), but it won't bother me, the wife's Expedition has it also so it won't be anything different for me.

Now here's a guy with all the essentials: a pen, tape measure, extra charging cord, some business cards held with a black clip (doubles as a small vice in a pinch), and extra cough drop, and some chewing gum. Working man, with dirt everywhere ;)

Seen people complaining that the shifter does not have end limit, I don't think that is necessary bad. One thing I like about the shifter is that I never have to engage it to Parking mode since I can just turn the power off or open my door and the shifter automatically switch to P. I don't think the system can enable this if the shifter does have end limit.

No, I don't like it. Always loved floor shifts. But, I will adjust and would not invest any time or money to change it.

Didn’t really like the dial in my girlfriends fusion hybrid but after the first few weeks in the maverick it’s all good. It’s low profile and out of the way, the harder thing to get use to is the parking break and also the silence of the engine. You have to see the green light to know it is ready. A few things to remember compared to my large Ram is, the cops can look down on you. I got a cell phone ticket the first week. Also if you wear Levis jeans and you are reaching over the side of the bed you can scratch the paint with the rivets by the pockets.😳

I don't have mine yet but isn't there an indicator on the gauge cluster?
There is. But sometimes it's nice to keep my eyes on the road while shifting--such as when checking mirrors while reversing.

Can you still put it into park before you turn off the truck just to be on the safe side ?

i would like to ask all, does anyone like the diel shift. i personally do not like it. so I am on a mission to see if there is a way to put a hand held shift like an f150. does anyone agree. thank you
It's likely the only design feature that I HATE.

I no longer live in the snowbelt, but if I did, I would much prefer a shifter than a knob: it's a lot easier to rock the truck out of snow with a shifter.

The Hybrid doesn't have 'gears' so there is no reason or really no 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc... so the only things that make sense if Forward, Reverse, Neutral, Park. You could diverge the EcoBoost/Automatic from the Hybrid/eCVT but any divergence is going to add to the cost. My wife's Acura has disjointed buttons which I personally think is the worst I design, so I am looking forward to a simple dial.

Sorry, but i love it. took a few days to get used to, but now its automatic to get in and twist it. It opens up a lot of additional space in the console as well.

you could always glue this on to protect your warranty and then you can rest your arm. 🤟

I am in the older category (60's) and I absolutely love it!!! I love the extra space as others have mentioned. I also like the feel of the dial and it is so easy to use.

I dont like it myself, but I also dont like that its a automatic. So I am screwed any way.

One idea, if you happen to be a male gender, you could try grabbing your personal shifter. I know its not in the right spot but driving your sport truck it should be firm enough for satisfying "hand feel". Now if you are female or any other gender with out that particular appendage, there are stores that sell items that may be to your liking, you can find them on the web, or in some of your local "not exactly upscale" neighborhoods.
