Welp, just got rescheduled again lol. That makes it 5 times so far. It's becoming a weekly email from ford at this point. It's just an xlt with trailer hitch. No other options, so I'm not sure why they would be rescheduling so much.
Hybrid or eco? Nevermind, I see it in your signature.

Ford corporate has to be realistic and come clean to customers... promising us the world but not delivering. Ford stock is down almost 10% because they can't deliver on orders. Tell us the truth and stop the bs. I'm tired of waiting and don't want to keep floating a deposit on a ghost truck. Ford corporate is not God. Don't believe these corporate hacks!

I ordered in late September but my order tracker has it for October 22 as the actual date although I put the deposit down and went over the spec-sheet in late September. It's an Ecoboost Lariat with AWD, FCP360, and luxury package. Fully-loaded. I keep checking my order tracker and it's scheduled for production as of Feb. 1st with an estimated delivery of Mar. 11th. Does this sound legitimate or will it be pushed to May like most others? Or are the May pushbacks concerning more towards Hybrids? I'm still kinda confused about that.

No one believed the claim that all unscheduled hybrid orders are being pushed to MY23. What Tim said in this video does not support that claim, either.
More info will come out. This past week, I think 95% were ecoboost that got scheduled. Not a good sign. Every day I keep reading about more and more hybrid orders getting rolled over to 2023 that haven't been scheduled yet.

And just think...people that got scheduled in December for a February build just got delayed until May. What do you think that means for people that get scheduled in January? June at the earliest...if there are no more delays. And what are the chances of that?

Nearly half of all Maverick orders haven't even been scheduled yet. Let's be extremely optimistic and say 50% get built by the end of May. That means it took over 7 months to build HALF of Maverick orders. They're basically going to be on pace, if no more delays, to build all their 2022 orders by late December....but anything built after August or September will be a 2023.

So I will be optimistic and guess that not EVERY hybrid will get rolled over to 2023s...but a LOT will.

Everyone keeps not wanting to believe it until they get an official statement from Ford...as if Ford has been in constant communication with every customer this whole time. How many official updates from Ford have you seen? I ordereded June 10th....I haven't got a single one.

@fordvideoguy your video seems to imply that they’ll treat hybrids and ecoboosts differently. Shouldn’t an October hybrid get priority over a November ecoboost in terms of materials/chips?

I ask because the video kind of mentions them as separate entities. Like maybe if you ordered an EB Lux in November, that was soon enough. But maybe September is soon enough for hybrids.

I was hoping more like if you ordered any truck, regardless of engine and options, by October that it would get built.

In June when deciding whether or not to order, I used KBB (blue book) to estimate the value of my F-150 trade in. I assumed (ha, ha ha) delivery in fall of 2022. But no. The value I'm bringing to the trade drops every month of Ford's delay. This is costing me.

Around November I received a promo offer from Ford worth $750. Yay. The delivery date was at that time estimated end of December. Later that slipped to January. Then first week of February. Now, May. The promo offer expires in April. It almost feels as if Ford deliberately delayed delivery to avoid honoring their promotion. In any case, the delay has real costs.

The state wants a safety and emissions inspection every year, and a new "registration sticker." Nobody does this kind of paperwork for free. In June when I ordered the date of that expense was several months after the trade -- so, no expense. NOW the date of inspection and registration is three months before delivery. I have to pay a full year's fees but only get "benefit" of that required paperwork for 9 months. It's a real cost.

The window sticker estimates annual cost of fuel (for a hybrid) at $950, based on 15.000 miles at gas price of $2.35 per gallon. Well, guess what? Gas prices are about a third higher than that. And going up. It's going to cost more to fuel the Maverick than planned.

All this before we even get started on the risk and rumors of dealer shenanigans marking the MSRP way way up.

Delay is more than an annoyance or an inconvenience. This is a real financial setback.

On the other hand, I expect, someday, to get a sack full of injection molded plastic knickknacks that will socket into the FITS locations. That's probably worth -- something...

Has anybody heard anything from Ford about making tangible offers of recompense for the problems their logistics break downs are causing?
Don't forget raising interest rates to borrow. They might go up twice before I get the truck.

The video did confirm the delays you mention are due to new chip shortages, and I do expect some chunk of unscheduled orders won't make it for MY22. But I still don't believe FORD told your dealer to cancel all their hybrid orders because no more unscheduled hybrids would be built for MY22.

Be happy with a production date. I have same build as yours. Done beginning of Sept. and still production. It’s all a crap shoot.

I have an XLT, Luxury package, with CP 360 on order. I ordered mine on 8/27/21.

I am NOT removing anything from my order. I'm going to have this truck for a long time, and will not remove options just to get it faster. I understand there are some who have a current vehicle that's almost dead, and they really need to get their Maverick fast, but I do not understand some folks who are willing to remove many nice options just to get it faster. I believe most of these folks will end up regretting this decision.

Just my opinion.

**EDIT**

I should've indicated that aftermarket items like SIBL, tonneau covers, and other items that could be easily obtained and installed by the dealer would be items I would cancel from my order.

Update from the Maverick Brand Manager:
These (chip shortages) are all related to 1 specific chip related feature. These should leave the plant in a first in first out basis.
It's one chip that is needed in every vehicle no matter what the trim or equipment is.
I would like to believe that the Brand Manager's statements are all correct. Unfortunately, my dealer showed me direct evidence that it hasn't worked out that way on his orders.

(1) Partial vehicle history for my truck. Produced on January 11; still sitting in Hermosillo.

Ford Maverick FORD MAVERICK DELAYS AND CHIP SHORTAGE 1644032861422

(2) Partial vehicle history for another truck, same dealership. Produced January 25, delivered this week.

Ford Maverick FORD MAVERICK DELAYS AND CHIP SHORTAGE 1644032808833

Both trucks are hybrids
-- mine an XLT, the other a Lariat+Lux+Tonneau+Spray-in etc. etc. etc.

If Ford is really putting the chips in vehicles in the order they were built (FIFO), it's pretty hard to explain how that happened. And from other, less-detailed reports of builds/shipping/deliveries here on the forum, it appears this is not an isolated case.

@fordvideoguy -- Tim, I doubt that you have time, but if you want to ask the brand manager about clearing this up I can PM you the VINs for both these trucks.

This right here is what really grinds my planetary gears. We both had the same build week, sent to plant same day, our trackers both showed 1/11 in production stamp (I think), both are hybrids, yours an XLT and mine a Lariat. For what friggin reason does someone else’s truck get produced and shipped when it was sent to plant about three weeks later? While ours are
stuck in Mexico…
