We have members on this forum picking up vehicles from Chapman on a regular basis, some very recent builds. No one has mentioned they were hit with a price increase. Again, this is a misunderstanding but if I were Chapman, I'd now tell him to pound sand.

When these price increases were announced, I emailed Ed at Chapman, who I ordered from, and he confirmed that the 4% under invoice price quoted back in July when I ordered was still what I would pay when it's delivered.

Edit: direct quote: "Pricing and rates are locked when you placed the order. The increase will affect orders placed at that time."

Ed responds to my emails, as well.. but again, infrequent. I'm not one of those people who feel like emailing him constantly is going to change anything in terms of how long this will take. Some people are constantly emailing their dealers, calling Ford marketing, etc. Waste of everyone's time.

I am a “long hauler.”

Maverick I ordered July 5, 2021 is scheduled for production this week. The window sticker on the tracking tool was available yesterday. Total msrp increased $890.00 from msrp at time of order.

Lariat base, lux package and co-pilot prices increased

Using info found here, the truck was invoiced January 20, 2022.

Margins are thin on the Maverick, I’m guessing that even at 4% below invoice, looking at least an additional $800.

My issue is with Ford, not the dealer.

I am 70 years old and similar things occurred over the years with other past purchases. I was never happy regardless how well the item worked and regretted buying it.

For this reason, I decided to walk away and pursue other options.
The price should be the same when you ordered the truck. As far as I know the increase was in December AFTER you ordered the car...

I get the frustration, I sympathize with you on that. I can only hope I’m not worried about $900 on a new vehicle purchase when I’m 70 years old.
What a d*ck statement. $900 is barely a single day's income for my home, that doesn't mean I wouldn't be pissed if a dealership tried to raise the price of my order that much for no reason.

Here's what you need to know. I ordered mine in June, you ordered yours in July. At that time the Co-pilot and the full spare was included in the Lariat Luxury package, they then pulled them out and charged them as an accessory sometime late in the summer. I emailed that to the You Tube Guru to ask and he didn't remember it, I had printed the screens back in June, SORRY. You should have received a DORA(Ford agrees to build it for the Dealership at that price), Purchase agreement (Dealership agrees to sell it to you at that price) signed by both parties. You should have given them a deposit and received a receipt. YOU NOW HAVE A LEGAL BINDING CONTRACT. 4% under, MSRP, $5000 over doesn't matter, it's whatever is on the contract you both agreed to. Price increase or decrease in the time before delivery does not matter either. When they built yours and gave you a window sicker it was higher because of that summer change. You don't care, if they don't deliver at that price you have a breach of contract. Your attorney and theirs know that. I've seen people brag on this website they didn't have to put anything down and have no paperwork. The Dealership probably ordered it stock to their specs, and they then legally can mark it up. I'm so sorry for your difficulty and loss. P.S. I am NOT an attorney. Mine is sitting at a great dealership with a tank full of holes waiting for a new one.

I also appreciate a person having principles and living by them (when it makes sense).

Since we're making predictions here, I suspect that AutoZone, NAPA, O'Reilly and Advance Auto Parts will buy or lease possibly tens of thousands of Ford Mavericks in the next few years. I don't see Ford having any "inventory reduction sales" anytime soon, if ever.
As a side note, if the Maverick makes it's way to statewide government contracts, thousands more could be ordered by state, county and municipal agencies. In my state, any governmental agency can order off the contract at a discount.

I ordered in June. I believe you are incorrect: Co-pilot 360 was not included as a no-cost part of the Lariat Lux package.

In any case, the OP's post has nothing to do with that...it has to do with the mid-year price increase Ford did towards the end of December.

Invoices generated by Ford (e.g. Window Stickers) after the date (December 26th if I remember right) will have the increased prices. HOWEVER, deals already made (where the dealer has entered customer details in the COVP system) should be price protected...assuming the sale is made to the same person. As I understand it, It is UP TO THE DEALER to apply to FORD for a credit for the old price. ALL of the paperwork (invoice and MSRP) will show the new pricing.
