I finally got all of my parts in and got my engine cover installed on my 2.0L Maverick XLT FX4. I wanted to create a parts list / install photo post so here it is. I think most of this has been covered before, but I know there was some confusion on what parts were needed an where they should be installed, so I hope this clears things up.

----------

I ordered all of my parts from https://www.fhmparts.com/

Parts list:

Engine Cover - K2GZ6A949A
Engine Cover Stud - F2GZ6A957A
Engine Cover Stud - W714647S450B
Lower Track Nut - W520201S450B

Total Price:

$75.88 + $20.05 S/H

----------

I'm not sure if having an engine cover really does anything or not, it seems to be debatable. I think it looks great and I wanted it "button up" the engine compartment so for me it was more of a personal choice. After I drive it around for a week or so, I can let you guys know if it cuts down on engine noise and what not if requested.

Install was pretty straightforward. I included photos that show part install locations. Hopefully this helps. Cheers.

Just to add, the engine cover fits over W714647S450B (threaded stud) and is secured in place by threading / tightening W520201S450B (lower track nut) on top of it.
I just got all the parts from FHMFord and put mine on. It went very easy. Thanks for publishing the correct mounting stud part numbers. It was a great help.

Just installed based on your parts list. It seems to me the rear driver ball stud F2GZ-6A957-A appears to me too long . If you view the engine cover from the front looks OK but if you view the cover from the drivers side this corner slopes up Which tells me the stud is to long…needs a shorter ball stud?

Do you happen to have the part number for the driver side rear plastic ball stud? Thanks much
Sorry I do not. I’ve discarded all the paperwork and don’t recall. I do know there is a longer and shorter version of those ball studs though.

We ordered the F2GZ 6A957 A. I just now ordered a F2GZ 6A957 B. I will let you know if it is shorter as soon as it arrives.

Thought y’all might like seeing the engine bay cleaned up a little. I bought the cover available for the Escape 2.0.

Fits great. You will want to buy the additional studs to secure it with but all in it was only about $75.

Admin update:

Added some more looks at another 2.0 engine cover install.

Seeing how the 2.0 is DI, the cover might help reduce how clacket-y direct injection engines can sound.

I ordered the hybrid, so doubt it would help as much. I don’t show off my engine bay, so appearance isn’t going to be a gain for me either.
Toyota leaves their engines exposed, so if not having a cover is good enough for them, it’s good enough for me.

Regardless, i’m sure many on here will appreciate and emulate your work.

When I ordered my parts, I ordered F2GZ 6A957 B along with F2GZ 6A957 A. Comparing both of them in a side by side, the only difference (that I could see) was the thread count. The threads are about half the size on F2GZ 6A957 B. The actual black plastic stud part is identical. I can do a comparison photo if you'd like.

Just went out and looked at mine, and its the same. I actually did not notice this upon the initial install, but I just did a 300+ mile road trip with no issues. Checked to make sure everything was still tight and in place, so I will probably just keep it as is.

Also, I ordered F2GZ 6A957 B as well. The black stud parts are identical, but the thread counts are much shorter on F2GZ 6A957 B. I can go out and recheck to confirm this at some point. So there may be some other part that I haven't discovered yet that is perfect. I'm not sure why this is so hard to find the right parts lol
