Just make sure 80% of normal fuel used is top tier - you'll get all the detergents you need.

Doesn’t rate very well on YouTube reviews. Better off with Techron or redline S1 - that both have PEA.

Yup.... other auto manufacturers recommend Top Tier gas too, or, a shot of Techron once a year. Used to carry a bottle in my Sonata trunk just for such non-available top tier fuel occasions when traveling.

Just my anecdotal evidence, but I haven't put anything other than fuel in my tanks since high school, and this has never been a detriment to vehicle longevity.

So, do you need it? No. Will it hurt anything? Also no. If you have too much money and need to part with some of it, knock yourself out. Or, as others have suggested - just use "top tier" gas. :)

My tank has had 90% Costco gas over the past 90,000 miles. With an occasional Valero, Flying J, Loves, etc. when traveling.
I take my nieces advice because she's much more educated then me (chemical engineer for Chevron) and just stick with gas.

I've always used a bottle of Techron or Gumout Regane around the time I do an oil change as a PEA booster, but mostly because I can't always use top tier fuel (which also has a higher concentration of PEA in the fuel). It's better to just use top tier fuel all the time though if you really want to keep things tip top, even better from somewhere like Costco or a busy truck stop where the fuel doesn't sit around for ages.

Seafoam int he tank of a pre 25 is utterly useless. 22-24s are DI ONLY, and gasoline is already a detergent. So if the fuel isnt cleaning your valves, the foam aint gonna do anything either.

On a DI engine, the seafoam must be sprayed in the intake, past the MAF sensor, to do anything, and its effect is questionable since it wont stay on the valves for long.

There is no such thing as a mechanic in a can.
Marketing has you by the balls.
Stop It before you mess something up and need a throttle body cleaning.

I have always thought of those products as gimmicks to make some company with no real return for the customers.

Some of those products, especially those with PEA (polyetheramine) like Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner, are the very same additives you find in top tier gasoline. They're not just gimmicks. Sea foam has its uses such as un-sticking piston rings when allowed to soak in the upper cylinder but doesn't really do anything as a fuel additive.

Seafoam has it's uses as a upper intake cleaner through the intake but as a fuel tank or even oil crank case cleaning additive, pretty much a waste.
