Good on both of you for recognizing a great thing when it comes around.
Long live the rare example of brillant form AND function coming together.

Sometimes people sell their Mavericks and move on. i dont even remember my login to the Nissan forum. i did have the courtesy to post a goodbye and posted my final mileage and hybrid mileage.
I'm putting same on my headstone.

Yep have to agree. I'm still fairly frequent and it does get boring/frustrating that many take zero time to search the manual or use the forum search bar, they just want instant answers with zero effort on their part, but I guess that's life now days
While true, there's something to be said for exchanging ideas and concerns with other members in real time rather than searching for a thread that may or may not have the info you need. It's a human connection, albeit virtually, but it's still a connect. I look forward to my notifications to see what responses I've received from my posts.

I still pop by. Life shifted for me last June when our 46 yo son died in a helicopter crash on the North Slope of Alaska, while doing bird conservation research. I spend more time checking on family than posting these days. Still love our '22 Maverick, and still post now and then on the Song Game thread. Take care out there, everyone.

In a different thread.
When I made the comment, I wonder what happened to @Ozarkbeard?
I got this reply back.

Disappearing members happen a lot on the Smart car forum. The owners on that forum were as old if not older than here.

I originally joined that other Maverick Forum. But I found that this forum would not only find issues with the Maverick first, but this forum usually found solutions before the other forum. Like the flooded or AGM battery conversation. I just felt that the people in here seemed more knowledgeable.

I went AWOL for a bit in late 2025, early 2026, mainly because I got so busy. I only just posted something about colors and hauling the other day... might have been the first new thread/posts in 6 months?

1. Had moved my MamĆ” and my wife's parents from VA & NY to AZ. (included purchasing and performing upgrades on two homes for them) 2nd half of 25
2. Started a business 1st half of 26.
3. Spent time researching and learning about other topics (related to golf carts, my new biz) and there's only so much time I want to spend online.
4. Haven't done much new to my Maverick to tell anyone about.
5. Ford hasn't really given us much to talk about with the Maverick (beyond cooling downgrades for EB 4K Tow, Tremor suspension retrofit options, Upgraded turbo options)

I haven't tuned into Tim Bartz in ages, and I really enjoyed his YouTube shows. Just got busy.

Funny enough, I still see a lot of familiar usernames in threads I’ve started myself, so I completely understand where the OP is coming from.

Most people probably just get busy, lose interest, or move on—but it’s still a little strange when someone who used to post all the time suddenly goes quiet.

This seems like something really silly to get upset about. It's just a silly name for older folks.
Not real fond of people using Boomer as a derogatory to minimize other people’s opinions. BTW, I am 67, not upset, just a preference in a society where people feel it is okay to insult others.

Offended by the word geezer? You are obviously not one yourself:)

What I mean is that it is socially acceptable for a geezer to use the ā€œG Wordā€. Younger folk, like yourself, should probably avoid using the term.

Similar to using the ā€œN Wordā€. You have to earn the right to use that term in a socially acceptable way.

Certainly not the first time I’ve been wrong here on the forum. I’m aiming for a .333 average:)

Did you know that both you and I are considered part of ā€œGeneration Jonesā€? I like that term better than ā€œBoomerā€ and certainly better than being called a ā€œsenior citizenā€. Anyway, I’ll avoid using the term geezer. I suppose I can use ā€œold fartā€?
