I don't expect my results to be any different than yours.
On our older models 22-24 that have buttons and knobs. I don't know if folks realize that the temperature selection button is actually the on and off button too.

I knew that on my 24 since day one, how you ask, I read the “Manual”!

What "button" or indicator are you using to turn your climate control totally off?

The big button you show in your videos that turns off all the lights for fan and vent selection and AC.
The only big button that pushes for Single zone control.

Mike, @MikeS1942 You're turning this button off prior to turning your truck off. Is that correct?

And it's turning back on when you start your truck?

I never turn anything off. I set the temp at 72 and leave it on auto. It cools it to 72 in the summer and 72 in the winter. The only time I ever turn it all off is in the spring when it's around that temperature outside, and that is not very often. I may occasionally adjust the fan speed up, but usually just leave it on one.

That is the only big button that pushes I referenced from your video - not taking a picture as it's exactly the same.
On/Off icon on it.
Yours is off since no fan speed showing.

So much confusion in this thread over pre-25MY and 25/26MY.

Pre-25MY - the HVAC system should NOT come on automatically (leave remote start out of picture).
When HVAC is turned On - the last selected options are usually selected again.
I've seen, and seen other posts, that there appears to be some glitchiness with it when HVAC is turned on.
Fan speed 1 is lowest - seen reports of no light on fan speed, I've seen it.
Vent selection has nothing selected, when Head was last used. It is only using Head, but nothing lit.
ETA: Forgot I've seen times of no Set point temp displayed when HVAC back on.
AC was turned off before HVAC was turned off, but when HVAC is turned back on - AC is lit.

25/26MY - HVAC system can be turned On when truck was turned off with it Off already.
AC can be lit enabled, when truck was turned off with AC off.
I've yet to hear of vent selections being different or missing after turning on.

Both system will run AC in the background if needed for humidity control.
Sounds like both sets of years do not show AC lit when this happens.

All of the above definitely applies to my '24, including the glitches when lights are showing or not.

I have a 2026 XLT Ecoboost. I suspect my AC may be running in the background without the AC light coming on. What makes me think that is because when I come to a stop, the dash indicator says the auto start/ stop is shut off, which I know happens if the AC is on.

Every time before shutting down my engine, I always power the AC off. However, every time I start the engine, the AC is automatically on. I don’t understand why this is happening. I would assume that the AC State should be the same at startup as it was when the engine was shut down. anyone else noticing this?

My 24 lariat does it.... sometimes. If the weather is cool, it does NOT turn on.
If i have the temperature set on 65 and there is some sun and the cab is 75 or 80 inside, it DOES turn on. This is my observation. So I think it is trying to bring the cab to the temperature set point.

As there are no physical buttons, as long as all of the touchscreen buttons are off and are not lit up, the A/C does automatically turn on. On startup, no climate control starts with no fan, no air, no cooling.

I was wondering why the AC was on without any light on start-up!

What I do before starting the truck keep your foot off the brake and hit start. Then see if the A/C light is lit. If it is turn it off. Then start truck and problem solved. This is for a 26 hybrid. I have not tried remote start to see what happens.​
