So I recently got a 2026 ford maverick hybrid lariat and it is replacing a 2025 in the same spec that was totaled so I thought I knew what I was in for with mavs. You know the scuffy plastic and what not but this new mav has basically broken me. It started with a slight buzz in the drivers door then maybe a slight one in the b piler and then the dash and now I have theses buzzes all around it feels like and worst of all this is the sorta tapping rattle coming from the passenger side. I can't for the life of me seem to be able to track it down and worst of all it seems to go away and then come back so I really have no ideas.
Now one I think it is a pretty bad look for a truck that costs this much but beyond that I am hyper sensitive to noises and to be frank I don't want to drive it anymore and when I do I have to do things like blast music or roll the windows down to help(note it really doesn't solve it so please don't recommend doing this). It has gotten so bad that on some drives I have to pull over and calm down for a bit.

So with that background here is the problem I am not sure if I should:
A.Keep the truck and work on fixing these noises and rattles with a combo of sound deadening material and foam and tape.
B. Sell the truck and get something with a more solid interior that is less likely to make noises
C. something else I don't even know.

The problem I have with A is that I am not sure I can fix them or if more will appear. Can long term owners give their thoughts? Do the rattles and noises get worse because if so I think cutting my loses soon may be a option to strongly consider. However I don't love option b either because one it would mean losing money and 2 there is nothing else like the maverick and I honestly don't know what I would buy.

Overall I want to love this truck I really do as on paper it is almost prefect for my life and needs because it can get such great gas mileage while still being able to haul stuff for work and hobbies. But these noises and quailty issuses are making me start to wish I didn't buy this truck. So any thoughts? Anyone else go through something similar and if so what choice did you end up making? I also just want to add this here at the end I am not trying to bash this truck or anything I am simply looking for advice as to what I should do.

My previous truck was a 2019 Canyon with the 200hp 4 cylinder. When I first sat in a Maverick it felt like a Lada or something - cheap plastic everywhere. Canyon got better mpg than my Maverick also.

That said, I really like my Lobo performance & handling - but the fit & finish of the Canyon was way better. Paid a bit more for my 2025 Maverick than my 2019 Canyon.

That said, the interior of my Maverick has grown on me. More “stylish” than the soft touch everything on the Canyon. Although soft touch does not rattle or buzz.

Meh. My GLI had an odd B pillar rattle that showed up on occasion. Finally got around to putting some foam in and now the problem is gone.

Neither work maverick has had rattle issues.

Thing is the Canyon might be built better. Modern Chevy is a total crapshoot. But it wont drive anywhere near as nice and is gonna chug fuel compared to a hybrid Mav. I'd spend some time chasing the noises around or have the dealer look at it as it is under warranty before dumping a vehicle and taking a wash on something you just bought.

I don't think the canyon is going to get the mileage, that the OP's hybrid gets.
I was not recommending the Canyon. I shopped diligently & picked the Maverick. Very happy with my choice.

I was expecting lower mpg’s with the Lobo:)

Did not mean to derail the thread…

Find a 25 still for sale. Tell the dealer you want to drive it for two days and if it is quiet you will trade him the 26. Some dealers have demos they may let drive a day or two. I see some with demos for sale. May find a 25 with a private seller also. If you liked the 25 find another quiet one. Just a thought..........

Warranty. Call the selling dealers service department, set up an appointment. Be firm and polite about the problem. Get a service advisor to drive *with* you to hear the noise.

25 Lariat hybrid also. Posts like this had me paranoid before I ordered and it got even worse while I was waiting for the truck to arrive.
Turns out ours has zero rattles, squeaks or weird noises. Maybe I lucked out ...

Sell it. Life is too short to be miserable.
This!!!! ^^^^^^ I'm on my 3rd Maverick, simply because I mis-ordered my first one, and then decided I liked the looks and stance of a Tremor compared to the non-Tremor Lariat I had for #2. If the buzzes and rattles really bother you, either let the dealer try to fix it, or trade it in on something else. Otherwise, you'll hate it every time you walk up to it.
