Getting crazy offers on my hybrid XLT 23 hitch, spray bed, back window, weathertech mud flumps, Gator low hard cover. 10k-14k over purchased price. Really divided on keeping it.
A Mav in the hand is worth two in the order bank.

I'd sell and put the money towards a 24 Ranger. They've made some sweet improvements, and the towing is significantly better. By the way, where are you getting those offers? I have a 23 Maverick Tremor which I love but might part with if the price is right.
I saw a listing from a Ford Dealer in Arkansas who was selling a Tremor for close to
$50,000.

If it were my money, I would sell it, lease something cheap for 2-years, and then rebuy a Maverick when the craziness has settled. That's what I'm doing anyway.

$14K over is an insane profit!

There are other vehicles in lesser demand that are still practical. That's why I picked up my '23 Nissan Rogue base model for example, figure I can drive it for a couple years, and I get over 40mpg on the highway and it can still tow 1500lbs which is good enough for the occasional light duty stuff. Got it for just a tick under MSRP. If you don't need to tow, might be able to pickup one of those '24 Chevy Trax or Buick Encore for $25K or so, still get around 30mpg, and they are a HUGE improvement on last generation.

very interesting.
I am thinking of selling my White Lariat Hybrid with Black package and moonroof.
I would sell it for that. Pass buyers my way

Carvana offered me $33k for my 22 Hybrid XLT Lux, but when you do the math it's really not much of a profit over the $31,300 OTD number I paid for the truck. I'd basically get all my equity back, plus a small profit. But that profit wouldn't offset the price increases since.

Annndddd you get to cut Uncle in on some of those excess profits...

My take is the dollar is getting hammered, economy in the doldrums, and inflation still increasing. Dollars in hand are worth less every day. I'd sooner keep my XLT. It may depreciate, but it is essentially irreplaceable. I also ain't no spring chicken, so doing without for a couple years(?) would be no fun. Thanks but no thanks would be my answer.

So you have a '23 Rogue with the 1.5 (3) cylinder? It looks like you link shows a 21 Rogue which had the 2.5L. How are you liking it so far?

Oh sorry, other than the engine they look identical to the '21s. 2024 is actually a refresh model year though, higher trims will probably get the new 12.5" infotainment and all will probably get a redesigned grill. Might be worth waiting a few weeks to see what the reveal will look like.

Yeah, mine is the 1.5T, its a pretty fancy engine. Rated 37mpg highway, sounds more like a V6 and has some neat variable compression ratio technology, has a new CVT-X (new generation for 22) that looks good on paper, and Consumer Reports thinks that the '23 will be the second most reliable in its class (first is the Forester), and with above average predicted resale value in class which is also unusual as Nissans are usually below average although again not as good as the Forester. Overall, its designed for comfort though, not sportiness. Soft ride (especially with the 17" wheels), big door openings, doors open wide (almost 90o in the back), and the base model is well equipped to most still having the brown and black soft-touch all over, rear vents, etc. That said, the market is flooded with sub-compact and compact crossovers, and as long as you don't go hybrid they seem to be available easily at MSRP now. Hybrids though for all makes and models are crazy, Hyundais and Kias in particular have huge markups, and so Rogue first caught my eye as the highest fuel economy non-hybrid in class. But there's also a brand new '24 Crosstrek or refreshed Trailblazer or brand new Trax, yada yada. Just avoid the Taos, they are easily available below MSRP but have a horrible reliability and driveability reputation (lurching).

Tax wise, if you get a good offer at trade-in, then you should only have to pay the difference in price, in Texas at 6.5% rate I think.

If I had a spare vehicle, and I do, and I got an offer like that I'd sell it and order a 2024 in a heartbeat.
