Basic XL hybrid with moonroof as only option. About 20k on Odom. Carvana offers 24k. Is this a good deal?

No do not sell!! best pick up by far you got a gem and it’s a hybrid, saving all that gas money. Don’t do it! Remember how excited you were when you got her. Take care of her and she will take care of you.

Did you sell yours?
Unfortunately... No. In our area the prices plummeted to below my purchasing price and I actually purchased the vehicle for 24k out the door. Best they would do at 4,000 mi and no issues.... as far as body damage or interior.... was 22k.

Your offer is less than what I paid for my fully loaded XLT. But what accessories have you added (my seat covers, tonneau, etc were -+ $800), by vehicle taxes were $1,800. Only reason I would consider selling for that price is it would be a breakeven dollar for 2 1/2 yrs of use but what would it cost to buy a new one, but most important what will it cost to service outside of warranty.

Thinking about getting a Rav4 Prime. Not going back to another Maverick if I ended up sellling.
I own a 2022 RAV4 Prime with 12000 miles. Zero problems and a 48 mile range (non Hwy) and 99.9 mpg gas. Only run the engine about 1x per week.

also have. 2024 Mav XLT FX4 for utility vehicle including towing. The Mav was almost $20k cheaper so I am not worried about MPG (28 avg) and no issues with the Ecoboost

I am happy with both vehicles

OP, the standard errors I often see in responses to questions like this are...

1. People don't adjust the original buying price for inflation, because you bought with pre-inflated dollars. You didn't pay $20,000 for that XL in today's dollars. The inflation adjusted cost for a $20,000 XL is now $23,000+ (that's just inflation, not Ford's price hikes). You also didn't pay $20,000 if you had to pay taxes and delivery and fees - more like $25,000 OTD in 2024 dollars.

2. People don't look at replacement cost - whether replacing with another Maverick or something else.

3. People don't factor in fees, taxes, etc. Which can be thousands if you are not trading, because most states give dealers special consideration on trades.

4. People don't factor in wear and tear on their current vehicle. Does it need new tires? Is expensive scheduled maintenance coming up?

I'm not making an argument for or against the Carvana sale. Just pointing out things pro and con you should calculate before making a decision. Also, you should call a few local dealers and get quotes from a few other online buying services.

You do see a lot of folks on MTC patting themselves on the back for their brilliant financial maneuvering. Then you crunch their numbers and realize they're financially ignorant. They're just not considering any of the above factors. Dealer finance staffers love these happy idiots, because they're easy prey.

LOL we paid under $30k for ours more than a year and 9months ago. Carvana = $32,400.

But we'd have to pay upwards of $38k to get the same new.

Tough call, either way. My wife loves her 2022 XLT AWD, she's put over 30k miles on it since 12/20/21. Plus, the interest rate is 1.9 percent. Can't find that anymore. Only issues were the updates and they were done to her satisfaction and in a timely manner.

What ever you buy if it’s new you are going to take a registered vehicle and tax hit ! Probably first year $5k with depreciation on anything new , more if you step up in vehicle luxury or price .
or cash out , buy a $10k decent older f150 and do your own maintenance . Doesn’t seem like you do many miles !
So mpg is probably not an issue . If you were doing 15-20 k a year maybe stay small truck or suv .
