Why Fort Collins CO?
Do you know....Main Street Fort Collins looks like Main Street Disneyland because the Disneyland architect copied Ft. Collins as a "typical American Main Street" in 1955.

Just think....

If you drove 60 mph you could go 250 miles more. And if you drove 55 mph you could go 350 miles more per tank.

And why not? You carry food and drink and your very own "rest area" with you!

(I know, 55 is hard.... just saying....)

Wind resistance on a large bulky body is immense.
A visit to my youngest son. (old guy at 46) for a few days! Good history, did not know that about Ft. Collins, interesting. It's hard to do 65 because of everyone smokin by at 85-90. Would not consider any less speed and as the song goes "I Can't Drive 55". On some trips we will detour off to the state and even some county roads if they are well maintained and not busy. Sometimes find nice places to stop and waste a little time, eat lunch, take a nap and maybe park for the night!

I can understand that completely, I haven't taken any trips longer than my battery range will let me and have only charged outside my home once. On a fast charger it took about 25 minutes to go from 32 to 84% charge at the cost of around $17 U.S. dollars or about the same as I would have spent driving my Maverick Hybrid. I took my Mav to Los Angeles from my home in New Mexico and actually verified charging stations now operable on the route and it would be practical to drive the Mach. Our fuel prices dropped to a low of $1.99 and since the war have risen to $3.94 since. Just curious, did your wife ever play the game built into the Mach E's touchscreen?
Yes, I think we got some games via OTA updates. Our local Ford dealer allowed us to put over 1500 miles on their demo!! It was the mother of all test drives! Back in 2021 people would come up to us every time out and want to chat about the car. It was an amazing experience!

Yup.... the last trip out to the KOA near there with our 5er, had all that and dumb@ss motorcycles drive on lane divides between cars going faster then them which were already at 80+ mph! However, someone mentioned (hard to believe its true) that CO allows for 2 whlrs to drive like that??? If true, can only imagine what death involved accident court cases results look like.. 🙄

I remember when Canada switched to metric from imperial and the gas was (regular) 35 cents a litre! ( Ya, I’ve been drinking, I mean driving for a long time)!
I'm old enough to remember around 50 cents a gallon in Canada - pre metric

Currently where I am, 159.9 a litre.

According to gasbuddy.com's price charts, thats roughly $6.06 USD/US Gallon.

(Glad I got the hybrid)

Yeah the 17 cent a litre transit tax plays a big roll in that, and won't be going away.

I am wondering when the translink tax was added. I read an article years ago where the City of Vancouver had all these extra taxes and when they tried to find where all the money was going they couldn't account for about 13% of those taxes. What strikes me as odd is Vancouver has all this tax money going into it and they still seem to be out of money. I pay attention because my family lives there.
Looking out my window I see it's 159.9 in my part of Calgary.

It started in January 2011 from what I can find. It was 15 cents a litre and was later raised to the current 17 cents.

Part of the reason gas in BC is more expensive is that most of it comes from Alberta unrefined,. Not a big deal right? Trouble is that we only have one refinery in southern BC, so most of it gets refined in Washington state, then shipped back. 😩

As for taxes, our politicians here are nuts with their salaries. Greater Vancouver area mayors for example in some cases earn more than the Prime minister. It's nuts, but this is a politics free forum, so I won't go into it.

In January 2023 I finally received my ordered Lariat Lux Hybrid and I had the same. I live in the southern desert in New Mexico in a small town and I was one of two there for months. I didn't mind although I was almost late a couple of times. Now I get more questions about my Mach E. I'm a Ford guy and a Mustang lover too boot but I also love the looks of my 1972 El Camino, I hope to get around to that one's restoration one of these days.

Yep, getting expensive. It's up to $3.12 a gallon in my city.
