A visit to my youngest son. (old guy at 46) for a few days! Good history, did not know that about Ft. Collins, interesting. It's hard to do 65 because of everyone smokin by at 85-90. Would not consider any less speed and as the song goes "I Can't Drive 55". On some trips we will detour off to the state and even some county roads if they are well maintained and not busy. Sometimes find nice places to stop and waste a little time, eat lunch, take a nap and maybe park for the night! Why Fort Collins CO?
Do you know....Main Street Fort Collins looks like Main Street Disneyland because the Disneyland architect copied Ft. Collins as a "typical American Main Street" in 1955.
Just think....
If you drove 60 mph you could go 250 miles more. And if you drove 55 mph you could go 350 miles more per tank.
And why not? You carry food and drink and your very own "rest area" with you!
(I know, 55 is hard.... just saying....)
Wind resistance on a large bulky body is immense.
