Canadian ford pass points- Beware!!!!! - solved!

I have a thread going as well about bonus Canadian Fordpass points for your maverick. It seems us Canadians are getting an additional 20,000 points, so you should be getting 60,000 points. 40,000 for a car purchase, and a bonus 20 for your Maverick purchase.

What does that mean exactly?

Is your dealer going to fix this paperwork issue?

Or has the dealership "kanata ford" used the excuse that they "are not a part of the ford pass points program" as an excuse to not do what they should have done in the first place for you to earn the 42,000 points for your Maverick Purchase.

I really don't understand why any paperwork was even needed as all that originally needed to be done was install the FordPass App on your phone, link to the VIN of your Maverick and accept the message on the Screen in your Maverick.

This was all done at my dealership the night I purchased my Maverick.

I think that is his point his dealership does not participate in the program even to the point of not notifying the buyer of it's existence and what to do to get the points. Maybe his options at this time is to ask for cash from his dealer or directly to Ford to furnish a delayed enrollment period or even a different participating dealer to advise him?

Are you sure that this is right.

I understand that Ford Dealerships can opt-into the FordPass program for USE of FordPass Points. That means that you cannot use FordPass points for Service and Parts at dealerships that are not in the program. In fact I had to search which dealership near me would accept FordPass Points for my purchase of the Hard Drop-in Bedliner.

I have not heard of any Ford Dealership that would restrict you in not receiving the 42,000 points for your purchase of your Maverick.

You should check directly with Ford to find out why your 42,000 points are missing.

Also you are required to activate the FordPass App on your phone and link it to your Maverick within 60 days of purchase date to qualify for the 42,000 points.

The FordPass points are only good for Ford stuff and Service at Ford Dealerships that participate in the FordPass program.

I don't believe that is correct. I created my Ford Pass Rewards account on-line only. If you activate the app on your phone they automatically start billing you for the modem after the 1st month. Told my dealer I have no intention of ever activating/using/paying for the modem and they said no problem.
Also, believe it or not, there are people that do not have or want a smartphone or even a mobile phone at all. Some still have only land lines and some have dumb flip phones not running Android or Apple OS.

yeah I only got 40,000 points!. Also, have had the Mav 2 months and no mention of being charged for anything! as far as I know it uses my phones data when needed

I had 40,000 and then about a month afterwards, the Fordpass said I had a new message and that I had earned an additional 20,000. Someone else said they received theirs as well and he/she was Canadian.

When you activate your car, and the dealer enters in the purchase, then a week or so later it will show up in your Fordpass App. As for the 20,000 bonus I got, I didn't know what I did other than to buy the Maverick to get those points.

I got my 40 000 points yesterday (took delivery on march 18th) and today got an additionnal 20 000 points in my app. Didn't ask/do anything. Free points is always good.
Would have liked something to compensate that 7 weeks hold on delivery because of fuel recall tho. Oh well.
