So about 1/4 of 1 month payment for an F-150 :)

Renting a u-haul for a whole house move is really a no brainer, unless someone wants to spend more for PODS or hiring movers. I learned young to get at least one size bigger truck than you think you'll need, offer food, beer or money to get enough friends to help and just do the whole move in one load on one day.
So much more relaxing and peaceful when it's one and done.
The complexity is that, due to circumstances, I probably will alternate houses for awhile. Hope to telework when I'm at my new place, but do some in office where I currently live and prep the house for sale. Hence not move everything all at once. It is about 210 miles away, so moving some stuff as I need it. Then move the remainder in a U-haul (either pods or truck/trailer). I'm probably going to buy a new sofa/bed/fridge for my new place, and leave my older fridge behind.

I haven't moved in over 20 years, and not looking forward to it.

Once upon a time we moved about 50 miles . I had a full size Chevy pickup at that time . I bought a small used trailer to double the amount I could haul in every trip . Many trips over several months .
When done moving I touched up the trailer with some spray paint and then sold it , cost me nothing , worked great for me .

Highly likely to be buying a new house in another city this year. An F-150, with it's larger bed, would make it easier to carry stuff a truckload at a time to the new house.

Of course, it would have cost more, or I would have had to buy a 2018 or so to keep my cost down. And get worse fuel economy. And not fit in my garage. And be harder to park in parking lots.

So only a minor regret. For the 99% of the other time, I don't regret it :)

I may actually try to rent a small trailer for moving my washer/dryer. I think I can do that and remain under the 2K towing limit of my Maverick.
I've hauled a washer and dryer in the bed, no problem.

Come to think about it I'd rent a 27ft U-Haul if i was moving myself. Cost what ?
A C-note Including Insurance and fuel for a local move. A buck thirty five for a second trip ?

I had a 2023 BS BB before I got the Maverick and had a bunch F-150's before the BS BB. I never towed My Mustang with the F-150's so I don't really miss the F-150's but it would be nice if the Maverick had an all aluminum body like the newer F-150's like the other guy mentioned. And FWIW I hauled 30 1.5 cubic feet bags of mulch in the Maverick and it hauled them great with the 1,491 lb. payload.

I would just have to measure that it fits between wheel wells or if I would have to elevate it above them. I have plenty of straps to ensure they don't move or fall off.

You can even rent an F150 from Home Depot for like $40
I would be having to drive it over 440 miles round trip. If I'm going to rent something, it would have to be big enough to haul what I need in one trip.

A pickup is more convenient for me to allow me to haul some stuff on drives I'm going to make anyway. And if I can get some things moved ahead of time, it reduces the final move and size requirements.

No Regrets at all. Just waiting for the Ford 300 Performance Engine Mods and then this truck will be perfect. I can almost take V8 trucks as is stock

When we moved, we rented a 55' semi-tractor trailer and slowly filled it over the course of a few months. We were charged a small monthly fee and a larger fee each time the company had to move it. This was pre-PODS.
It worked great and it was really something to see the skill that driver had backing the trailer up a driveway from a highway and snugging it against the fence in one try.

I once rented a van, and was hella surprised that I had to pay a little over $100 for in town moving
Uhaul Van or truck = Rental + mileage. Uhaul Trailer = per day rate. With the Maverick and the hitch, you just need the trailer.
