The complexity is that, due to circumstances, I probably will alternate houses for awhile. Hope to telework when I'm at my new place, but do some in office where I currently live and prep the house for sale. Hence not move everything all at once. It is about 210 miles away, so moving some stuff as I need it. Then move the remainder in a U-haul (either pods or truck/trailer). I'm probably going to buy a new sofa/bed/fridge for my new place, and leave my older fridge behind. So about 1/4 of 1 month payment for an F-150
Renting a u-haul for a whole house move is really a no brainer, unless someone wants to spend more for PODS or hiring movers. I learned young to get at least one size bigger truck than you think you'll need, offer food, beer or money to get enough friends to help and just do the whole move in one load on one day.
So much more relaxing and peaceful when it's one and done.
I haven't moved in over 20 years, and not looking forward to it.
