Good points!! Agree!Agree with @CurtisB. AWD adds a lot of complexity, reduces fuel economy and the Maverick even with AWD will never be a Jeep Wrangler. I am all in on great fuel economy and the hybrid regularly beats the EPA estimates. Most all the recalls are software, so nothing to get spun up about at all. It just shows that Ford has really increased the use of software / firmware over the last 5 years that they can do most recalls with a flash. Now if they would only go to OTA updates like Tesla so we could apply the updates ourselves as an option.
No I don't regret the purchase. If the AWD had been available I probably would have gone with it. However with that being said I've had several FWD vehicles and haven't had problems in the snow with them. (I live in Southern Michigan.)Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Imagine this may be influenced on weather severity in your area. Heard mixed reviews from the owners in my area in Michigan.
Thanks
Absolutely not! Loving the 45 mpg, 1 oil change a year, and actually extra hybrid boost on the highway if i play it right! The real Question is: will people opt for the hybrid AWD coming in '25 over the FWD hybrid?Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Same. I totaled my Mav and bought a 4k ecoboost off the lot while I'm waiting. I averaged in city/suburban driving 46.5mpg and now I'm about half that.Traded the other way. Had an EcoBoost and traded it in for a Hybrid. If you don't trailer more than 2,000 lbs the Hybrid is a no brainer. I find the Hybrid has plenty of power from zero->70. Will order another Maverick later this year and will definitely be a Hybrid. I save $90-$120 a month in petro with the Hybrid. From day one, accumulative MPG is 42.9 mpg.
Did well over 1,000 miles off-road, dirt, gravel roads last year in the Hybrid...FWD Hybrid works very well in the boonies.
This is the first hybrid in the family and something I surprisingly wanted to get. I'm not regretting it at all.Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Imagine this may be influenced on weather severity in your area. I wanted to buy the AWD but they didn't have anything in stock except a hybrid that the customer that ordered it decided to cancel. I just happened to be there at the time or I would not have even gotten the hybridJust wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Good thing there is a dash indicator!I've driven 7,000 mi and it's still hard to remember which side the gas tank is on. Kind of hard to beat that.
Have forgotten that...in the Hybrid you feel and hear nothing when changing gears.Regrets…
I had a few
But then again
Too few to mention…
I absolutely don’t have any regrets with my hybrid. I love my little truck and the excellent MPG I get! I love that it has an electronic transmission with very smooth acceleration and no shift points like a regular transmission has. Best little truck I ever had!
Most likely the Hybrid AWD's extra weight will decrease the Hybrid's mpg some, but lots of EcoBoost owners will probably be looking closely at the Hybrid AWD so if the difference in mpg is minor it might turn in to mostly a Hybrid AWD market. Just hope Ford doesn't screw it up.Absolutely not! Loving the 45 mpg, 1 oil change a year, and actually extra hybrid boost on the highway if i play it right! I live in Michigan and have been through 2 winters with the Hybrid. No regrets. The truck handles great in the snow and icy conditions. I drive sometimes 1000 miles a month for work and save over 200 dollars a month in gas (former car, 2 door economy). I have traveled 3 times to the mountains in Kentuky and the truck handles great on hills and dirt roads.Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ?
