Highly likely to be buying a new house in another city this year. An F-150, with it's larger bed, would make it easier to carry stuff a truckload at a time to the new house.

Of course, it would have cost more, or I would have had to buy a 2018 or so to keep my cost down. And get worse fuel economy. And not fit in my garage. And be harder to park in parking lots.

So only a minor regret. For the 99% of the other time, I don't regret it :)

I may actually try to rent a small trailer for moving my washer/dryer. I think I can do that and remain under the 2K towing limit of my Maverick.

With a 54" bed, your Maverick is big enough to drive to the nearest U-Haul. They'll rent you a van with a ramp, straps, blankets, and whatever you need to move all your stuff from Point A to Point B without having to worry about it getting rained on.

I was thinking the same thing. But, I have a light little 4'x 8' trailer that is great for things like big appliances or a lawn tractor, ect.

I just moved from an apartment to a house and used my Maverick to haul stuff. Sure, you can’t haul as much but you can still haul.

And don't forget, you keep the savings and convenience of your maverick....and not worry about feeding the big pig of a truck the 99.9% of the time you won't need it!

Buy what you need most of the time and pocket the savings. :)

I always say "buy the thing you need 363 days of the year; rent the thing you need 2 days a year."

And moving house is an even LESS frequent occurrence. Why would anyone choose their daily driver based on that criteria? That's crazytown bananapants.

I got rid of a beautiful, cush Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie that I bought to drive on Houston's freeways, safely (up high/ great visibility) during rush hour every day. I never really hauled with it. Loved that truck! My ego sunk a little when we parted, but the minor depression was fleeting. Now I can't imagine moving back up in size and dealing with parking, navigating tight spaces, etc. I'm very happy with my trucklet! But then again, I no longer navigate daily rush hour traffic.

Yes , A rental truck or trailer. Probably less $$ than the added car payment and even gas for month. You didn’t say how far the move is. 10, 100, 1000 miles. PERSONALY I wouldn’t hesitate to pull 2500 lb 20 miles or so on relatively level terrain.
