I bought a 2025 AWD Hybrid with a 4K towing package in July 2025. Since then, I have continually received emails from the dealership I bought from as well as my servicing dealer. My question is - why would they think I'd want to sell my vehicle within the first 6 months of ownership? Where is the economic advantage? Am I missing something. I keep my trucks for 10-12 years so forking out for a new truck in 6 months doesn't sound like a sound economic idea. Just the depreciation alone would seem a bad idea. Anyone do this on a regular basis?

Op,
They are trying to sell cars, period.

YOU are not in the picture. Your credit score is. You just got one. You qualify for an upgrade.

I got a Christmas card back in 2010 From a Ford salesman that sold me a Pony Car.
Got one every year from then on until he retired in 2023.
I still get one from the new Sales manager at Brandon Ford. I left that state 8 years ago.

Combat tactics Mr. Ryan.

Hmmm, strange to get offers like you say you are.

We bought ours end January 2025, and have not been bothered by Ford or my dealer here in Wpg.

Maybe the dealers in your area are a bit more aggressive.

And we wouldn't get rid of our Lariat! We aren't in the new truck every year club...of course those who want to and do, enjoy! I prefer keeping what I like.

Have a good one,

Andy

The “economic advantage” is for them, not you.

A car Dealership would repossess your Grandmother's house like Happy Gilmore to sell her a 2nd car right now. Wanna see if buying is addictive to you, trade it right in for a newer one? Their ethics make Phillip-Morris look like the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Maybe it was their favorite truck and they sold it to you by mistake? Just kidding - and if you really want to laugh (cry) ask they would offer you:)

When I signed my purchase contract there was a full page of privacy stuff. “Check this box & we’ll make sure you get early access to special deals & offers!”. “Check this box and we’ll let you know when to bring your truck in for service!”. I had to mark “no” on a dozen or more boxes. Except one - “we’ll inform you of recalls”. I checked that “yes” but it had to be “yes” by the NHTSA regulations anyway.

They are just mass mailing and if you are one to keep up with the Jones? Basically, they want you to buy a new car from them and hopefully trade in your car for less than it's valve, so they make $ on both cars and laughed at you when you drive off the lot with the new car.

1. To low-ball you on your trade.
2. To sell you another car - again.
3. To profit off of manufacturer incentives - again.
4. To profit off of selling you a loan/oil changes/etc.

This is misleading as FoMoCo doesn’t want anything to do with your truck, at all.

This is the dealerships always trying to make a sale and a buck off a potential customer.

they hope to keep your mind on buying a new one. The sooner the better. Doesn't really matter to them if it's actually in your best interest or not
