If you're like me (and you own a Maverick), you like to keep an eye on the fluid levels under the hood.

Also like me your eyesight might not be what it once was.

So I’ve used a trusty Sharpie to highlight the max/min on the dueling coolant tanks.

No glasses required. YMMV.

Yeah we had an trailer towing over/heat situation and when back from camping looks like the coolant was 15 percent underfilled- It was not obvious with the clear tanks and such -

I have an extensive quiver of black Sharpies. Use them all over. Write the date of acquisition on any new purchase (exception: Maverick). Makes my wife tear her hair. Allows me to say "this G__d___ thing only lasted 9 months!" or "Whoa, this thing's been going strong for 4 years!" Your basic old guy stuff...

I am in the process of fixing my vision issues with cataract surgery. One eye is done and the other will be fixed on Tuesday. I will be saying goodbye to starbursts and halos at night. Black Sharpies are best!

As a technician, I actually appreciate it when a customer marks their coolant jug. Makes my job a bit easier especially when the coolant is clean, and the jug is dirty or old and discolored. It eliminates a lot of "but I thought..."

Oh great, now Maxina will come out with some sort of colored strip for your coolant tank. On sale thru Amazon for $17.00 to the MTK members.
Replacement coolant tank reservoir, with LED lights to mark fill lines. $80.

Congrats! My mom got hers done last year and she loves it. She says “I found dirt in places in the house that I didn’t know were dirty for years.”

🤣

Guess it helps when you can see clearly.

I ditched the regular Sharpies a while ago because they do not stay visible for long in the heat, oil and moisture of the engine areas.
Try Forney paint markers. The oil paint seems to withstand harsh conditions much longer. The disadvantage is the marker leaks drops occasionally. Keep a bib nearby.
