I buy on the A/Z plan and pay cash so no interest paid ever. Since 2021 I have bought:

2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend and kept less than a year and sold to Carvana for more than I paid total OTD

2022 Bronco Sport Outer Banks kept less than a year and also sold to Carvana for more than I paid total OTD

2023 Maverick XLT hybrid kept for 9 months and traded in for what I paid on the next Maverick that I had originally ordered

2023 Maverick XLT hybrid that I ordered a year earlier and kept for 18 months and traded in for what I paid for it.

2025 Escape PHEV that was a smoking deal with over $12K in rebates and kept that for 6 months(A-plan minimum) and sold to Carvana for what I paid total OTD

2025 Maverick XLT Eco AWD purchased on A-plan including $2K in rebates which I have had for 2 weeks.

5 years, 6 new vehicles, Drove the first 5 basically for free.

I trade my girlfriend in every year. Keeps things fresh.
[/I would guess she was barely broken in????????

I traded my 22 for a 25 for a difference of $4500. Went from two months left on my warranty to a new 36 months. Also got some good upgrades and avoided the potential increased rate of depreciation for the 22. Paid for 22 with 0% interest in three years. First time I have not kept a vehicle at least seven years. Seemed like a win - win situation.

I had a 2023 BS BB for almost a Year and a Half and traded it in for the 2025 XLT AWD Maverick I have now with the 2.0 EB. The BS BB had issues Bad Dash Rattles, Fuel Gauge that wouldn't register full and System Off To Save Battery that kept showing up in the Cold Weather.Which could have been the battery BS's had a Battery Recall but I never got the Recall for mine.I had enough of it and figured I would Get the Maverick something that I liked with a bed since I had a bunch of F-150's before the BS BB. I took advantage of the Ford Employee pricing and couldn't be happier with the Maverick.FWIW the BS BB only had 6,600 miles on it when I traded it in.

I have been on this forum going on 4 years. I'm amazed how many people replace a vehicle as soon as it's a few years old. Especially a truck! I can see a work truck, but a Maverick is not a "work truck", it's a fun truck. Fits in a garage, pulls a fun type trailer, (small boat, camper, snowmobile etc) fits the whole family, and looks the same as a 6 year old Maverick. Not to mention a new one cost at least 8K more just to say I have a new truck!
I replaced my 23 because Eruption Green I wanted was finally available. (Plus AWD & 4K TOW)
It did not cost me $8,000 to upgrade.

I already had 28k miles on my 23. Sold it for more than I paid. Bought the 25 for $2,450 off sticker. My 23 had $1,500 in options. My 25 had $4,250 in options.

If you subtract the difference in options, it cost me $1,100 to upgrade from a 23 with 28,000 miles to a 25 with no miles. Why wouldn't I do that?

I have been averaging about 2 to 3 years with a vehicle. Why? Because I can. I worked my entire life to become comfortably middle class. The kids are grown and I only have to worry about myself. If I see something I like, I get it without regret.

Iam with you. I keep my vehicles a long time. I have a 54 year old Plymouth and two 16 year old dodges. They have been very reliable. Hoping to get 15 years out of our maverick.

Order banks for '27 will open in about 9 months. OP is taking plenty of time for this decision.

Very few of us have the advantage you have to get great deals on new vehicles using the A/Z plans, and paying cash. If I could wheel, and deal, the way you can, I would also trade up and never run out of warranty.
