Does a Maverick Raptor even make sense? Can this platform be turned into a real off road machine? Or does an RS version make more sense, stealing bits from the Focus RS?

I'd buy a Maverick Tremor. If you lower it, it's just a wagon with the rear roof cut off.

Too many to list.

They need to redo the FX4 package and give it the the same differentials/clutch packs as the upgraded Bronco Sport for real off-road performance.

I also dont see them adding these high dollar packages to a vehicle they keep calling a "budget" or "entry level" vehicle.

I agree with the FX4. They should've given it the Bronco's capabilities.

I don't think a Raptor is feasible being a unit body vehicle and probably needing to upgrade the engine to something more powerful like a turbo 6. An RS package would make more sense.

The best they'd do would be dropping the 2.3T in. A lowered Maverick with a big turbo motor would be a modern day GMC Syclone. They probably won't do it lol

Just add a lift, big wheels and tires add the Raptor decals and call it a day.

Most peoples idea of off roading is accidentally driving over part of their lawn.

Since I first saw this announced all I've been thinking of is "PLEASE drop a bigger motor in this thing and give us a modern day Syclone".
I would be ALL OVER one of those.

An RS model seems most likely to be made. Give it a tune, coil over shocks, larger brakes/wheels/tires and Recaro seats and you’re there. But what about price? Starting at $40K?

I would put my money on an all electric Maverick. The Maverick Lightning?!? Give me the big battery that the F150 has that can power my house in a power outage!!

Assuming an RS would be a relatively loaded trim, $40k is the exact number I've had in my head.

The F150 Lightning was easy to design - plenty of room in the frame for batteries. A Maverick EV would probably need its own platform. I'd bet that the next generation Maverick will have an EV for sure, if not be standard EV by that point.

I wonder if they didn’t realize how much of a hit it was going to be and waited to put in the effort for a more advanced FX4 pack. I can see the next model years being updated for sure
