Yeah, that's the one thing I wish I had instead of poverty sync. I suppose you can always retrofit the sync 4 from Panda or something like that, but it's wildly expensive. I have no issues using android auto on mine, but the glitch I have the most often is the song title in the cluster getting frozen on whatever the first song you played after starting the truck. The volume and next track stuff not working on the wheel but still working under the radio was a new one lol.

Another thing I've noticed that's irritating is that none of the infotainment or audio modules seem to actually shut off for quite a while after you exit and lock the vehicle, so bugs won't clear unless you do a manual reset if you're just doing errands or something.

All in all it's just minor stuff though, so it's hard to really complain
Yes. It seems as if you have the typical sync 3 bugs. Sometimes updating the sync system will help. Other times we end up replacing the sync/apim . Thus far. The sync 4 systems seem much more robust.

I wish the dashboard UI would show the tire pressures, oil life and other info that they make you look up with the FordApp which I'm not gonna use.

With you 200% on 4.

same with 2022-2024
It's really easy to switch from Android CarPlay to local AM/FM radio and SiriusXM on a 2023 Lariat. Can either do it by button or even safer and easier just hit the voice button on the steering wheel and say SiriusXM 114 or AM 890. It goes right to it.

FWIW, the whole SYNC system is headed into the garbage bin in favor of the Ford Digital Experience, which is built atop Android Automotive. I'd expect Ford to invest minimal time and effort into SYNC going forward.

That said, I'm sure SYNC will linger on older/cheaper product lines for years to come.

One of my neighbors worked for Ford on some of their web site UX and he says it was like being trapped in quicksand. You'd want to change one word in a description, it would have to go to legal and you'd get an answer 6-8 weeks later if you could go ahead or not.

This isn't even their vehicle UX, just the web site UX. On the vehicle side it must be even worse. Their programmers probably hate this stuff MORE than we do but there probably isn't much they can do about it, realistically

My main gripe on my 2025, which is IMO a genuine safety hazard, is that if you turn down the dashboard brightness to some reasonable level for very low light environments (driving in the country on unlit roads), the row of buttons which includes the hazard light switch becomes invisible. I've been in a situation where I wanted to warn drivers behind me of something but simply couldn't find the switch.

EDIT: just remembered another gripe ... you pull into a gas station and want to reset the "trip 1" or "trip 2" setting before fueling to track your mileage. Put the truck in Park, undo your seatbelt OHHHH here's a nice seatbelt warning that CAN'T BE DISMISSED, even tough the truck is in Park ... so you have to redo your seatbelt in order to access the menus ... : rage :
This would also explain why their software for infotainment, vehicle controls, and GPS is always about 5-10 years behind the open market. I'm actually surprised they don't still offer CD players, or cassette decks in 2025...that would be typical Ford.

I am so glad I snagged a 2024.
Yeah, I’m a proud member of the button/switch/dial generation.

Sync3 is so much worse than Sync4, though. It's 11 years old. Sync4 is definitely not perfect and I would prefer HVAC knobs but god Sync3 was a buggy nightmare in my Focus and Sync4 in the Maverick is so much nicer to use.

I have a 2025 XLT since DEC 2024.
I never noticed any SW glitches but I hate the digital controls and the digital dash board.
I want switches and analog.
Also sometime Android refuses to connect , so I have to turn the ignition off and back on for Android to connect. I use Android mostly for Google maps
I do not expect to ever understand everything about all the possibilities on the computer.
Except for that I love my maverick and my wife finds it so cute.
I use it quite a bit off road ( gravel and unpaved roads), I wish it had more ground clearance.

I have a 24 and it has software glitches too. It makes me miss the old days before computers complicated everything.
I'm with you on some of that. I really enjoy the days of manual HVAC controls. However, I do love the wireless Android Auto with the maps and various sources for audiobooks or music, which overall has worked pretty flawlessly over the past almost year now. I certainly do not miss the days of trying to play cds in a car with just a tape deck with the cassette adapter that plugged into a portable cd player headphone jack .... yup, I'll definitely take Android Auto :)

I'd actually like to have a CD changer as long as it can read MP3's. You can load your whole library without having your phone hooked in.

I’ve got the ā€˜25 XLT and let me tell you, the software is absolutely the worst. I turn off the brake coach. It always magically come back on. Sometimes after a couple of weeks, sometimes after a day. The seatbelt notification is also annoying. I don’t need the car beeping at me and a seatbelt notification on top of my speedometer display (which stays on after all belts are fastened). Really great truck besides the software. Coming up on a year of ownership and it’s my only complaint.

Imagine if ANY car manufacturer offered hand crank windows, wing windows, floor vents, ect... now days.
We boomers would be in heaven.
