To me, yes it is worth it. I also keep vehicles a long time. Just before I bought my 2023 Maverick Lariat hybrid I sold my 2006 Ranger with 280,000 miles.

Other than the dash rattles, the Maverick is everything I need, nothing I don’t.

Yes. I paid just over $38,000 to get the "bells and whistles", and they all are worth it. It is comfortable. It is responsive. It is safe. It is my second Maverick as I was an early adopter. I ordered my first Lariat in the summer of 2021. Yes, it was somewhat less expensive then, but this is 2025. Things cost more. Further, this 2025 Maverick is even better than my first. What will I do when the warranty on this one runs out? I don't know, and I'll decide then.

I downsized from a 2023 Silverado LTZ. It had some nice features that I wanted to duplicate in my Maverick. The Lariat got me about 90% of the way there.

I've had my Lariat for about 4 weeks. So far, the main thing I miss most is the vented seats. Another thing I miss is the "rear seat storage". This is two storage compartments within the rear seat backs. Great for storing tiedown straps and jumper cables.

When I was shopping around for a smaller truck, I looked at several other makes and models. I compared features and prices. In the end, I felt the Maverick Lariat had the most "creature comforts" at a reasonable price point. AND it has the AWD Hybrid engine.
Did you notice the storage UNDER the bottom of the back seat? It's not a lot of storage, but probably enough for straps and maybe the jumper cables (depending on how large they are). I put the two head restraints from the back seats in mine so that I have better visibility out of the back window. I'll probably only rarely have passengers, and I can't put them back in place if needed.

We had ours for 4 months before I noticed that the passenger-side bed cubby has a fake floor that you can pull out, and that there more room in the bottom part than above

Now I have a place to store my tie downs and tow strap 😄

Yes!! Old guys like the extra features. Much quieter than XL even with all the add-ons. Hey compared to the price of Ranger or F100 equipped like I would want? Hell Yea!

We ought to start a thread asking owners to show what they have stowed under the rear seat.

The under-seat front seat storage is great, I keep a first aid kit, some basic tools, duct tape, rain jacket, flash light and dog toys, bowls, theres still more room, under rear seat I keep a go bag fully loaded with everything I need if I have to GO in a pack, behind the seat I keep a shovel and a tarp, you can't see any of it. My 22 FX4 had even more room, my 25 Lariat Hybrid has the battery under the rear seat but still holds lots of stuff. The door pockets are also large I keep gloves, water bottles, fire extinguisher, Leatherman, ruler, tire pressure gauge, dog leaches and collars and don't look cluttered. When I sold my 22 XLT I cleaned out my truck and needed 3 X large boxes and was in shock, where did all this stuff come from, didn't even mention the glove box and the console or the bed, I was amazed how much stuff you could fix in this little truck and not see.

To each their own. I paid $25.2K for my 2024 hybrid XL. Other than heated seats, it has everything i need and then some. copilot 360, bed liner and tow hitch. i put a nice set of Vision wheels on it and love the way it looks.

I was chatting with my friend about this. He asked me if the Maverick is worth it. I replied no and explained it was because of the higher prices and removal some "features". I understand inflation etc., but go from 20k for a XL to 29k (in my area) it's a bit much.

I paid around 32k for my 23 Lariat with BAP. I felt like I paid too much, because inventory wasn't hanging around too long. I'm pretty sure that the stock Lariat was around 25k in 2023.
As other have said, is it worth it compared to what else you can get for the same money today?

I think the answer to that is "yes". I just put a deposit on an incoming '25 Lariat AWD Hybrid with 4K tow. It's replacing a 2008 Honda Ridgeline. I actually looked at the 2025 Ridgeline, and love the roominess and that it can more readily be lifted, but the mech/tech are pretty long in the tooth now. I would have been more interested in looking at the mythical Ridgeline Hybrid, which may show up some day.

I'd thought I was going to buy an AWD XLT/Luxury package, but when I finally looked at what the Lariat brought to the table for only $2.5k more, it was a no-brainer.

Echoing everyone: the only test that matters is what a new Ford Maverick costs in comparison to other new vehicles you can buy in 2025.

Someone got a Mav for $21K four years ago? Congratulations-- I got a Mazda Protege for $12K 20 years ago, and Taco Bell back then used to have 59 cent tacos.

I wish my 2025 Lariat was cheaper, but I wish *everything* I bought was cheaper. That feeling isn't new for 2025, however; I've felt that way my entire life. We are never going back to 2021 prices (which is actually a good thing, as those who took econ in high school remember-- low inflation is far better than high inflation, but *deflation* can be disastrous).

In comparison to all other vehicles I looked at, including other Maverick models, a fully-loaded Lariat had everything I wanted at a price my good fortune in life allowed me to afford. I've put 1,000 miles on it since I picked it up, and my choice gets better every day (the lane keeping is literally life-changing on the highway, combined with the adaptive cruise control, the Maverick is the least-fatiguing vehicle I've ever driven).

I waited years for Honda to refresh the Ridgeline.

Then I put in an order for a Maverick in July 2021.

And Honda still doesn't have a refreshed Ridgeline.

What something (a vehicle) is "worth" to someone is personal & subjective, and doesn't necessarily follow any measurable metrics.

It's less subjective to compare vehicle features, capabilities, efficiencies, cost of ownership, etc.. to determine comparative value.

I'm still waiting for an alternative choice to the Maverick Lariat, that can make the value argument even slightly compelling.
