But not everyone needs a truck as big as a F-150. They are gas guzzlers too...

40 maybe stretching it but since now everyone must have AWD 4k after selling a ton of hybrids 22-24s, I think average transaction price will be ~35k. Likely exactly where Ford wants it.

90% carryover parts / tooling from 22-24s. 10% new and they are probably finally making money.

My current mileage on an interstate trip is 36.6. My cruise is set to 72. When I am solely in town for a full tank of gas I am right around 40. I drive in eco mode exclusively and I pay attention to my braking. But I do drive the speed limit and I don’t try to hyper mile and become a danger to the traffic around me. I tracked in Fuely for the first year and it was 1-2 mpg less than the onboard computer. So close enough that I quit tracking in Fuely. I have a 24 lariat so it’s just front wheel drive but the 25s with awd are only supposed to drop about 1 mpg.

Picked up my new 2025 Lariat today and here’s my opinion/comparison.

Had a 2016 Edge Titanium pretty loaded, 2.0 EB 245HP, MSRP was about 42-43K, didn’t pay that but that’s not the point.

My 2025 Lariat ODT was about 43K and I have to say for what the 43k gets me in 2025 isn’t bad compare to the 43k Edge in 2016.

I’m very happy I chose to wait for the 2025’s.

Mine will be 43k otd and that’s a loaded lariat, I think it’s also fair vs many other offerings

I just looked up my 2022 price (not including licensing and delivery) - 28,466.50. I built a 2025 XLT FX4 4K with the same features I have - or as close as I could get - and it was over $36,000.

After three years owning the truck I honestly feel like the original price was correct. This is not a $36K or $40K truck.
Buyers will always feel that an unrealistically low price is the correct price. But that ignores the position of the sellers. The sellers are making a product that the buyer is unable to make themself. So the buyer is at the mercy of sellers competing within the marketplace to figure out what the “correct” price is. Since there is no competition for the Maverick, whatever Ford determines the correct price is, is what the correct price is. What other fully optioned pickups are on the market in 2025 for $28k? None. What about at $36k? Just the Maverick. Nothing else comes close.
