How to Turn Off Reverse Beacon / Alert Sound?

Teslas have a back up noise. I have a Model Y. Friends have a Model 3. Sounds like a space ship. Alot better sound than the Maverick. More subtle.

Older ones didn't. My neighbor's had several and the older ones didn't have any low speed sounds, neither going forward or in reverse

So the back up alarm was a piddely little sound that sounded "cute", but not like a BACK UP ALARM, right? I went down to the local truck parts store and bought a BACK UP ALARM that sounds like a garbage truck backing up. Annoying? Yes. Gets people's attention? You bet yer ass! I also put a switch on it so if I back out in the early morning hours I do not annoy the neighbors sleeping in. You're welcome.

I would install that adapter to get rid of the fake engine noise if t wasn't such a pain in the ass to get to where you plug it in..

Actually it's not just for the careless guy looking down at his cell phone. It's also for the blind guy who's walking near you and can only hear you when the reverse beep or the forward humming speaker makes noise. So it's considered important,

Perhaps someone needs to 3d print a pair of big red lips to mount on rear bumper that move in unison with the beeping. He/she could market it as "The Bacon Saver". Possibly have a flashing led add on and market that as " The Beacon Bacon Saver".

If you'd like to disable the reverse beep, I'd recommend having a shop wire up a reverse alarm cut-off switch. This is a momentary toggle that will turn off the reverse beep when you press it and then return to the ready position (the reverse alarm remains off until you shift out of reverse.) This allows you to turn it off when it's not useful or desired and retain the function for when it is.

Heh anyone seen those videos of people who have hacked those "Big Mouth Billy Bass" animatronic rubber fish to "sing" an mp3 or streamed music. Mounting one of those on the back that actually pronounces "Beep, beep, beep, sigh, beep, beep, beep" would be somewhat hilarious.
