These are made the same way as every other Ford.
I cannot speak to other new Ford products, but my 2008 Mustang has much better fittings and quality to it, as did our old Ford Escape and even the tiny Ford Fiesta we had. Thicker metal panels, much less exposed wiring and connections underneath.

I got the premium 10 year 125K mile from Granger . Added for better loaner and lights

Just a note my Mav is at dealer right now for NY inspection and service bulletin in regard to battery going dead. They also put in new battery,.

While standing at service counter he was on phone talking to another customer. Said front wheel bearing is bad, $950 to replace. No idea what vehicle. BUT still $950 yikes.

They’re a waste of money.
I have never purchased extended warranties but that doesn't mean that's the right way for everyone. For some people they can be a piece of mind for the unexpected. Also, I truly think a large part depends on how long someone plans on keeping the vehicle. Are you trading it in for new model after 4-5 years? If so it probably isn't worth the added cost in most cases. What if you plan on keeping it a least 9-10 years? In that case it can make a lot more sense depending on the cost of the warranty itself.

Also to say that extended warranties are always a waste of money is just simply not true:

TLDR:
*Purchased Land Rover For $26,998 + $3,699 Carmax warranty.
*Carmax paid $21,276 in warranty claims over the life of the warranty.

I didn’t say “always”.

You said they were a waste of money. period. I was pointing out there are exceptions and they are not always a waste of money.
I agree with you, but if you quote me, don’t add words to my statement. I’ve never purchased an extended warranty on any vehicle I’ve owned, but I do buy extended warranties on my house appliances. I’ve had washers and dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and even freezers replaced under extended warranties after they were deemed unrepairable.

I'm usually mostly against extended warranties for most products. But for the Maverick (or any Ford really) I think a lot of people don't realize that when you purchase it through Granger the price is actually a great deal. The Ford ESP that I got through Granger was almost half of what my local dealership said was their best price. Even third party warranties with similar coverage were much more than Granger's ESP price. To me this made it a no brainer. Now if the only choice was paying full price at the local dealership markup then I can't imagine I would have purchased the ESP.

And that just verifies how much mark up there is in extended warranties.

Well, that’s what the dealer’s guy said.
In Jan,’23, went to the dealer for my first oil change and the state-required annual inspection sticker. After a while, the service guy came out to tell me that my Mav had failed the inspection. There was a small hole in a tail light that had allowed an ounce or two of water to enter. Light worked fine, but was told that he’d have to fail the truck. Showed me an estimate for $900+ to replace it. I told him to put the “R” (rejection) sticker on, giving me 30 days reprieve, during which I bought, online, an OEM Ford tail light for $250.

I bought it for my 23 EB. I wasn't sure about reliability being only the 2nd model year.

I generally won't touch extended warranties: they and CDW on car rentals are the two worst insurance deals out there.

However, for the maverick, I got one through granger. Going there or (Fleming?) comes to roughly 55% of list price for it, I calculated.

It's also, for 10y/100k/$0 something like 6% of what I paid for the trucklet in the first place, and less than a couple of the notorious repairs they sometimes need.

I also figured that it would help sell it in a few years when something shinier catches our eyes . . . (as odd as it is for me to contemplate selling a usable vehicle; it's not something I've ever done before!)

I bought it right out of the gate since I plan to keep it for a decade or longer. Figured I'd rather pay for any future warranty repairs in today's $$ rather than inflated $$ several years from now.
smart move - I did not quite understand that it's the same warranty if you buy it day 1 or buy it at year 2.999 - it all kicks in at the 3 year mark. Prices have gone up substantially since day 0, I'll be buying it next month and I'll be paying about $600 more than I would have if I had bought it in the 1st year.

Not me... I'd would like to keep a car, any, as long as I can, yes! 10 years? 15?
But! Car accidents happen often now, daily basis.
I i won't keep a car after a car crash, so the Extended Warranty doesn't matter to me

ext warranty is transferable to the new owner for a $100 fee - it can be a pretty good selling point especially if someone is aware that it had been in an accident.
