I love it although I never use it, I did once to test it and it worked as designed but I don’t need it I’ve been stopping and holding my foot on the brake pedal for five decades - I think it’s probably great for detracted driver…

I wonder about be hit from behind causing your foot to come off the brake & rolling into the car Infront of you.

I had a friend that totaled their car when they were rear ended at a traffic light. The car was 5 days old.

That could happen that’s why I leave a good distance between me and the car in front of me I call it my escape options and I’m looking in my rear view mirror and side mirrors when I’m at a traffic signal that was part of learn how to operate a motor vehicle in the 1960’s

OK, question for the peanut gallery. When using auto-hold, are the brake lights lit? I would assume they are, but have never confirmed.

Not an issue. See page 325 of the manual, "Post Impact Braking":

In the event of a moderate to severe crash, the braking system reduces the vehicle’s speed to prevent or reduce the impact of a potential secondary crash.
Of course, a big enough rear-end impact will overcome both the auto-hold AND the post-impact braking, but the same thing will happen if you're just using your foot on the brake.

Tried a couple times - found no desire to continue. Not useful to me.

Brakes take barely any pressure to hold and it's habit.
And would hate to jump in other vehicles and a now new habit causes a problem then.

I had this happen to me in my 2006 mustang. I was on interstate 40 when traffic came to a stop. I fully stopped but the kid driving the big work van behind me (texting) slammed into me doing 60 mph. I saw it coming and braced but the force was so great, my foot came off the break and caused me to hit the gas. Between the impact and me hitting the gas, I hit the car in front of me. Of course I was at no fault in that accident but my poor baby was totaled. The trunk was pushed into the back seat, the rear windows exploded all over me and the hood got smashed. Stilll hurts after 10 years... I loved that car! Anyway, even though it wouldn't help in my accident, I do think this is a good safety feature in certain situations as well as a comfort/convenience thing. That being said, I rarely use it... it's just a muscle memory thing to put my foot on the break.

I like it in particular cases, but leave it off most of the time. To answer your question, it's highly doubtful that you're the only one
