This is showing my age, but I remember seeing an ad for a motorcycle (don't remember the brand or model) and it had 210 HP, which blew my mind because at the same time, the Lincoln Mark VII had the same horsepower with a 5L v8 and the cycle was a heck of a lot lighter.
So I understand pounds per hp!
Plenty of 1000-1100cc bikes make 200hp+ these days. The Aprilia RSV4 is pushing 220 (!) out of an 1100 V4. I bet that thing is a RIOT, but you might need to be a 120-lb contortionist to fit on it. 😀

What is the goal?
2.3L Ecoboost delivers over over 600 HP with modifications and is less effort.
Why V8?
Because the OP is bored and wants to be entertained by this thread.

Honda CB 750F Super sport twin cam. Just 47 horse power. Would blow the doors off a Corvette with the L 82 engine
I ‘stirred’ the gear box to keep the motor between 9,000 and 10,500 RPM when I wanted to haul azz.

Trouble is the engine is transverse mounted so the only V8 I can think of is the Cadillac NORTHSTAR. 300 hp right out of the box. Adapting the transaxle would be an interesting project.
In the 80's & 90's it was a popular swap for a Pontiac FIERO.
Apologies to the died-in-the-wool Ford guys. Just to show that I like almost all car makes,
this was the 302/331 stoker for my Cobra build

People seem to be forgetting that an electric drivetrain is heads and shoulders faster than an internal combustion system of any available size, let alone what could be forced down the throat of a Maverick. Due to physics, not feelings.

If the need is speed, retrofit a Tesla Plaid system in there. Sub 2 seconds in the heavier Model S, so maybe 1.5 in the Maverick? Maybe attach some stubby wings and go airborne? Realistically, it might snap stock axles and stuff with the torque, so would be useless. Most early EV dragsters could not keep the tires on because the drivetrain would start up so fast the rims just spun inside the tires, and they'd melt the bead, while the car just sat there.

But yeah, I'd like to see someone frankenstein a V8 into a Maverick, too.

Once you get into road bikes, crotch rockets.
Your definition of fast moves away from big engines in little cars.
Sport bike and rider, say seven pounds per horsepower.
Just sayin.
As both a retired USAF aviator and a former pocket rocket (2 and 4 wheels) rider, I'd have to say my concept of what is fast kept going up over the years.

  • Started out with my Schwinn Sting Ray bicycle - thought I was fast.
  • First it was a sixties era 442 - faster
  • Then it was a Yamaha RD350 - faster
  • Then it was a Honda 750 - faster
  • Then it was a Mazda RX7-R1 dual turbo - faster
  • Then it was my C-130 Hercules - faster
  • Then it was A-10s doing ovals around my C-130 three-ship formation over Iraq - faster
  • Then I got "embellished" (practice intercept) over Germany by a British Lightning - faster
  • Then I got passed heads-on by an F15 two ship - fastest
  • never got passed by an SR71, to my everlasting disappointment. But used to watch them takeoff from the UK.

You ain't seen speed till you've had an overwater heads-on pass by a supersonic F15. Or been cruising at 20,000 feet, and he goes vertical on burners and vanishes into the clouds.

It would be a lot of fab work, and might save 200# (if anything) over a Regular cab F150 5.0. Not worth it. Adding a complete rwd setup from a 5.0 will be heavy, and require lots of additional heavy fabrication to mount it all.
