Would we buy it again? Absolutely, and we did. Traded in the '22 Hybrid last Nov for more than we paid for it even with 25K miles on the odometer, and ordered a new one pretty much the day the buying window opened. We are driving our new '25 Hybrid and love it. No issues after the first six weeks. We would have held onto the '22 and not traded up except for the great trade in value and the fact that we start all over with a new warranty.

Yes, I would buy it, but maybe not if the prices keep going up. I am very happy with my XL Ecoboost. It drives and handles better than any truck I have owned, and I have owned many trucks. No deep sleep issues and only 2 recalls.

I got my first Maverick in October of 2023. It was a dealer demo XL. I had a 2023 XLT on order, but had no idea if I’d ever get it.

My 2023 HPR XLT finally arrived and I was excited. Almost two years and 6,000 miles later, I am disappointed in my little truck. Deep sleep, backup cam, interior scratches that make it look older than my 2018 model S and the list goes on.

If it wasn’t covered by a $0 deductible warranty until 2033, I’d probably be getting rid of it. I might get rid of it anyway. I can’t imagine ever recommending buying one to a friend.

Bottom line. I would not buy another Maverick.

Unfortunately I would not buy a Ford again for 1 specific reason. The Ford service shops. I had a horrible experience between 3 Ford service centers near me. 1 said my issue was covered under warranty. Worked in the next city over for a few weeks and went to a Ford service center there. They said the issue was 100% not covered under warranty. The 3rd got in the mix after the 1 in the next city over. That service at the Ford dealership said it was covered under warranty. Came time to check out and they said I owe 69.99 each plus tax for the tire pressure sensors. I complained and said but your service manager said they are covered under the warranty. It's a 5 month old truck! I paid because honestly I lost my temper and just wanted to leave. I then went back to the 1st Ford service center after that week of working out of town. Told the service guy I had spoken to before and he said it was a bad shop, the 4 sensors were bad from the factory, and showed me where they are fully covered under the warranty. Took that information back to the dealership that charged me and was given a refund that should arrive within 4 to 6 weeks back on the card I paid for it on. That time is crappy in itself. I also reported them to corporate and received feedback and a call from them. I was surprised by the call. True this experience could happen at any service department but the days and frustration it took left me wanting to get totally away from Ford!

This is the first truck I've owned since our 1990 Isuzu pickup. I love having a truck again. I've already been able to haul a bunch of stuff for one of my kids who was moving into a new home and I was at a Costco that was blowing out some display washing machines super cheap. I was able to buy one and haul it home the same day. If I was in my CR-V, I would have had to rent a trailer and probably not have bothered.

Would I buy a new 2024 XLT FX4/4K again knowing what I know now? Yes, resoundingly. It's given me no reason to complain.
Would I buy the same options in a 2025? No, the price has gone up enough that I'd opt for an XL Hybrid awd with 4k but I'd still buy one because there is no other truck that matches the options, price, size and economy the Maverick offers.

Hybrids typically go 400K plus miles easily if you drive enough miles per day that life doesn't end due to the elements. Would not worry past warranty at all. So much less maintenance on the hybrid too. If the HV battery dies after warranty, a low mileage used one is about $700 now. They usually go 200-400k miles though. Brakes every 100k or so. No expensive turbo or DI injectors to replace. Engine should go 400,000 easy with proper maintenance.

More just a feeling on how long the rest of the vehicle will last, and what spare parts look like.

I assume the little Slate pickup will be vaporware that is no where close to the target price, but I would personally be happy with an electric pickup + a plug in hybrid SUV in the household if it made financial sense in the future.

Too early to tell if there are any bad points yet for me. But if the situation were different, I would probably go ahead with some of the "wants" that I went without this time, like AWD. I was driving in heavy rain a few weeks ago and had to turn around due to water rushing across the road. I had the worry that, if I got off the road with just 2WD I may not have traction.

23 xlt hybrid, 32000 miles
Would I buy it again? Yes. No question about it. It's been a great little truck. Fuel economy is awesome, hauls well, drives good.
Ford replaced the failed transaxles. The other recalls have been software updates for me.

Would I buy it again at this year or next years price? That's a tougher question. Once you get over $30K that starts opening up other purchase options.
Out the door I came in at just under $29K
