I've only had my Maverick for two weeks, but I have already put over 3,000 miles on it. All I can say is so far I love my Maverick! She is perfect for delivery driving, which is what I do now. Plenty of room to pick up multiple orders, and 30 MPG with Ecoboost engine. The amount of power she has for her size is amazing, and the all wheel drive gets me to those customers that live off the beaten path with no problems. She was a huge upgrade from a 2015 Ford Focus. We will see how she holds up over time, but as of right now I have no regrets getting my Maverick and will buy another one when the time comes. I would put her up in a competition versus any comparable Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, or Kia. I completely blew a Hyundai Santa Cruz off the road the other day going up an interstate on-ramp Haha.

I would, no issues at 6 months / 5K other than a slight rattle from the instrument panel I have been too lazy to fix with a piece of rubber that was not fixed by a TSB. It is (or was) a cheap vehicle made mostly of plastic, I have no illusions about that. I also lost one of the belly pan cover screws doing my first oil change, which is the first time I have had to deal with one of those since owning an Audi years ago.

Only other vehicle I was seriously looking at was a Corolla hybrid, which they are actually selling them for $24.5k now for a base model, a little under MSRP (wasn't the case 6 months ago). Toyota certainly has some problems now too though, and I have been using the bed a lot more than I thought I would.

How much I want to gamble keeping the vehicle past the powertain warranty is another question, but who even knows what the car market will look like in 5 years. I can say with 94% confidence it won't be better.
Hybrids typically go 400K plus miles easily if you drive enough miles per day that life doesn't end due to the elements. Would not worry past warranty at all. So much less maintenance on the hybrid too. If the HV battery dies after warranty, a low mileage used one is about $700 now. They usually go 200-400k miles though. Brakes every 100k or so. No expensive turbo or DI injectors to replace. Engine should go 400,000 easy with proper maintenance.

Just got my second 2.0 Eco - Everyones situation and level of comfort is different - no right - no wrong -

Hybrids maybe in my future but I'm trying to stay in a vehicle I don't have to wait a month to schedule an appointment at a dealership after warranties (extended even) - as i have trusted regular mechanics (not charging dealership shop rates) that won't touch a hybrid as they do not have the specialized equipment to diagnose nor the training - at the moment. Plus with Gas prices dropping like a rock soon MPG becomes less of a consideration ... Drill Baby Drill ;)

Cheers
Sounds like your mechanic doesn't want to keep with the times. My mechanic works on Hybrids and electric cars. Proper training is key. My truck will only see a dealer for warranty or Recalls. Otherwise no reason I would ever go there. My mechanic has The ford software. It's expensive to maintain, but they can do pretty much anything a dealer can.

So you would if Ford unlike ALL other manufacturers would sell it at less than the cost to produce?
" The base MSRP for a new 2022 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab starts at $27,150 for the SR model. "
" The base MSRP for a new 2025 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab (crew cab) is $31,590. "
" Just look at the 2022 Ford Maverick. This compact truck rides on a unibody (SUV-like) platform. It comes standard with a hybrid powertrain. It also has a starting price of less than $20,000. "
"The price of the 2025 Ford Maverick starts at $29,840 and goes up to $43,120 depending on the trim and options. "
So Ford realized they had under priced it in 2022. In 2023 the Maverick went up 2500 on the xl. It is called inflation and cost to do business.
I really don't care what something cost someone else. I care what it cost me. At the time it was the cheapest vehicle I could get. That was decent sized and not pay the covid markup since it was ordered. I use the bed maybe 3 times a year and mainly just a commuter. At this point I can grab a Camry, Accord or cuv. At the $30k+ price point, the value proposition is just not there as before.

I got my first Maverick in October of 2023. It was a dealer demo XL. I had a 2023 XLT on order, but had no idea if I’d ever get it.

My 2023 HPR XLT finally arrived and I was excited. Almost two years and 6,000 miles later, I am disappointed in my little truck. Deep sleep, backup cam, interior scratches that make it look older than my 2018 model S and the list goes on.

If it wasn’t covered by a $0 deductible warranty until 2033, I’d probably be getting rid of it. I might get rid of it anyway. I can’t imagine ever recommending buying one to a friend.

Bottom line. I would not buy another Maverick.
What warranty is that please and how much did it cost?

As far as me buying again my 2025 Lariat AWD hybrid with 4K Towing Package....yes I gladly would and will as I plan on buying the next full model refresh likely in 2028.

You bring up a very good point as far as scratching goes. So I have addressed it somewhat and that is sparelingly using heavy duty packing tape on contact spots and religious use of "303 Protectant" which restores most minor scratching.

Since my Maverick will be paid off in 2027 I will only need to finance a small amount $10K to $15K to get my 2028 Maverick. (Balance due after trade in).

3 years and 33K miles on an XLT 2.0 AWD with tow package and the answer is yes. I get between 30-33 MPG. The truck has pep and is relatively quit. Easy to park, handles well and does a decent job towing and hauling. I'd say so far it's exceeded my expectations, especially at the price point.

Probably won't buy another. I'm ready for a quiet, smooth riding vehicle. I like my 23 eb mav but don't use it like my old trucks. I'm going comfort all the way.

YES. 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid. 16K miles so far. The best Daily Driver/Home Owner Pickup truck I ever owned. Now if you are doing heavy duty towing, construction, or need a bigger bed, Probably not the truck for you. But lets be serious: How many pickup owners in America actually use their truck for heavy duty purposes such as heavy duty towing, construction, or really need a bigger bed on a regular basis? 40-43 MPGs on Average. No other small to midsize PU can compete. Ford finally listened to consumers and produced a PU for the masses. The OVERLY EXPENSIVE F150 and Ranger are great vehicles. But huge size of the F150 and shitty gas mileage on the Ranger was a non starter for me.

Why would anyone do that? Lol.
Regularly Towing a decent load at constant and steady inclines at high elevation. A niche case.. But there you go, that's why someone might do that...

Can we stop with the Ecoboost vs Hybrid crap already? Goes for both camps... The arrogance and shaming needs to stop....

Yes, assuming no other mfg has a similar size trucklet, I would buy a Mav Lariat hybrid again.

I purchased a new '22 EB base Lariat off the lot in '22 as a placeholder for my ordered hybrid. Base = In '22 there was a lux pkg for the Lariat - mine didn't have that. The EB was spunky and got decent mpg. The only defect was a rumble in dash, since the subject of a service bulletin where they fit a rubber wedge between the dash cover and the defrost vents by the windshield.

My '24 Lariat hybrid is a joy to drive. Except for three recall updates to software, fixed by mobile service in my driveway and the sleep issue, it is the perfect vehicle for my needs where 87 gas costs $4.50/gallon.

23 XLT Hybrid picked up January 2023. Love, love, love it! It's been up and down California over and over again. Great mileage. Comfortable ride, especially going to roller derby tournaments with the kids' stinky sweaty gear all safely tucked in the bed. We have had few issues. Biggest problem: passenger window stopped working but was quickly fixed by Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood. Lots of recalls - but all quickly taken care of. I'd buy another in a heartbeat, and probably will.
