Less issues. This forum is loaded with all the issues with the hybrid; battry, axles, sleep mode etc.

I had zero issues with my 23 hybrid. 28k miles, only sold because I was given more than I paid.

I currently have a 2023 awd lariat, I got it used with about 9k miles on it. And in just over two months have put another 2.5k on it. I love it, it does everything I need it to do. Fits more mulch than the small car I had before, and drives better. No problems so far, and per the maintenence reports the last owner had none either. I plan on driving it till it falls apart and so far it seems like it'll be awhile. After that, if all goes well I would buy another Mav, unless I end up needing to consistently haul or move bigger things, then I may go with a ranger.

Many reasons. The type of driving, city or mainly highway. Cold climates which drains battery and also reduces the hybrid efficiency by running the ice. Loss of horse power and torque is a big difference. Cost of the hybrid over ecoboost. Cost of replacing battery if you plan on keeping the vehicle over warranty. The extra cost in oil for oil change. Also until recently you could not get AWD or 4k towing on a hybrid. Ease of service not everyone is a mechanic and a electrician. Having to deal with a ECVT and the noise when pushing the pedal to the metal or towing. Also I and many feel the transmission is longer lasting on average than a ECVT.

You asked, so don't blame the messenger. Now the hybrid in many areas can be a winner for some. Myself I drive 36 mile round trip to get to town. Right now since it's warmed up this tank is averaging 32.6 or 32.9 so far. They hybrid is rated at 34 hwy. Also even with battery maintainer, I'm constantly replacing batteries because of the cold. Last year 2 days -17 fahrenheit and many still below zero. These were the main reasons I opted for the ecoboost. Besides the 250hp, 277 ft lbs of torque at 3000rpm and of course having a transmission. Also needed AWD and that was not available on the hybrid or the 4K tow package before 2025.

Best of luck with your hybrid. I'm completely happy with my ecoboost and confident in my decision.

Yep. I bought a 2023 Tremor XLT+Lux and sold it when they announced the 2025 AWD Hybrid.

I got 3,400 more than I paid for it, and happily paid $38,300 for the 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid.

It is a better truck in every conceivable way starting with Sync 4 through the Hybrid AWD drivetrain. There isn't another vehicle available for $38,000 that I would rather drive than the Maverick.

EDIT: I do wish the interior plastics were more scratch resistant and there are a few features I wish the Maverick had (power passenger seat, memory seats, a driver's seat bottom that can adjust independently) but you can always want for more features.

I don't think there are many who feel the 8F35 will outlast the more simple and robust design of the HF45 and HF55.

In fact it is common knowledge around these parts that the 8F35 in the EcoBoosts is definitely the weak link in the EB drivetrain.

So much wrong information here. Not worth the time.

Just got my second 2.0 Eco - Everyones situation and level of comfort is different - no right - no wrong -

Hybrids maybe in my future but I'm trying to stay in a vehicle I don't have to wait a month to schedule an appointment at a dealership after warranties (extended even) - as i have trusted regular mechanics (not charging dealership shop rates) that won't touch a hybrid as they do not have the specialized equipment to diagnose nor the training - at the moment. Plus with Gas prices dropping like a rock soon MPG becomes less of a consideration ... Drill Baby Drill ;)

Cheers

I got my first Maverick in October of 2023. It was a dealer demo XL. I had a 2023 XLT on order, but had no idea if I’d ever get it.

My 2023 HPR XLT finally arrived and I was excited. Almost two years and 6,000 miles later, I am disappointed in my little truck. Deep sleep, backup cam, interior scratches that make it look older than my 2018 model S and the list goes on.

If it wasn’t covered by a $0 deductible warranty until 2033, I’d probably be getting rid of it. I might get rid of it anyway. I can’t imagine ever recommending buying one to a friend.

Bottom line. I would not buy another Maverick.
If your not happy with your Maverick, sell it, or trade it in. You will get a better price for it with the 10 year transferable ESP, or can get a refund for the unused part of the ESP.

I also have 23 XLT, very similar situations and similar complaints. I could look past all the Mav's shortcomings if ford hadn't raised the price 35%+! Current price's are ridiculous for what it is, hard pass.
