Car wash near fail

Took my 2025 AWD hybrid thru the car wash, same as I had with my 2022.
drove on the track put in neutral about half way thru felt a bump, rear tire had come off track. Was able to get it righted. Never had that happen in the 22 FWD.
Anyone experienced this?

I have seen it happen where folks have pulled in and pulled on one side or the other on the old roller bar system.
What kind track was it?
Roller pull through.

Flat conveyor Style

The newer car washes seem to use the conveyor system.
I'm not crazy about it, although it accepts wider tires than the old roller style did.

Those are pretty hard to pop out of.
Your tire has to get up and over the side rails.
Are you sure your foot didn't hit the brake?

I have NEVER had to use the "L" button in a tunnel car wash while the truck is in neutral and I was inside the truck.
Per the owners manual.

Could also be the collision avoidance system - you should always disable when using a car wash with a chain or belt conveyor

if the system senses a object coming at it - it can apply the brakes and snap the conveyor chain or belt or lift the tire out of the track this was explained to me during my orientation during the delivery of my new 2025 Subaru I ask if the is a Subaru thing he told me I should do the same when going through that type of car wash with my 2025 Maverick as well - just a good practice with vehicles that have collision avoidance systems

Nope.
You're not going fast enough being pulled through a tunnel car wash for the avoidance system to activate.
Avoidance system activates at 6 miles an hour AND your truck should be In Neutral which disables the avoidance system.
I have mine set as sensitive as it can be I have never turned it off and never had it activated in a tunnel car wash and that's the only type of car wash I use.

Thanks Glenn, yep that’s what I’ve been doing since 2022 . I then the attendant may not have noticed back wheels weren’t all the way on?
