Well I left my Maverick with the dealer for 3 days thinking they have come up with a fix for the deep sleep battery issue. Ford tells me they are aware of the issue and should have a fix (software) sometime in 1st qtr. of this year. Well that is about over and no fix. After fumbling around in the dark looking for my keys, etc at 0:dark:thrity every morning, I decided on just attach a small (5 Amp) smart charger to the under hood 12 volt Positive terminal and ground it to the frame. I 1st tried a NOCO 2 amp charger, but found it was to slow to bring the battery back to full charge, Sent that back to Amazon and got their 5 amp version. This works fine. I Velcroed the charger to the fire wall, tied the connections down with nylon ties and added a 125 volt port (also NOCO) through the XLT Finder Badge. Gives it a professional OEM look, and I just plug a 120 volt extension cord into it to keep the battery charged. Used the drivers side for the port so I am not apt to drive off while it is plugged in.

They updated the alert to state that the fix is now due in 2nd quarter. It seems to be at very low priority for Ford to actually release a simple software fix, given that this has been an expensive warranty cost for almost 4 years now across half of their product lines and is also costing them a huge amount of Customer goodwill. Maybe the student programmers messed it up and had to actually go back to school to earn how EFL batteries should be charged...

"Should be out by quarter 2", if you can believe anything Ford says, as they kick the can down the road further. If this was as simple as a software update, you would imagine it would have been released by now. It is most likely going to require physical changes in the charging circuit to adequately recharge the 12v battery, which it doesn't currently do in the hybrid Maverick.

This is what was speculated by many about the back up camera fix also. That was really causing grief, fines, dealers and customers and was finally fixed through software updates.

On the noco after it charges to 100% the light will stay solid green. Then it will start to dimm without any of the red/orange lights burning. This is the sulfate/optimization mode. It can run periodically for several days so if possible leave it on or restart it by opening and shutting cab door!

My new 2024 Lariat does not deep sleep yet, but my 2020 Escape hybrid does as soon as I turn it off, I learned from someone that you should lock it with the FOB and it doesn't kill the battery as fast.

Looks like the ONLY way we get a fix is class action lawsuit. We just need a few lawyers to take it. Hopefully we get a few or I doubt we ever see a fix. .

This ☝

OP: it may take several days for de-sulfation to finish. When it does finish, the slowly pulsating green light will change to solid green.

I have a quick-connect on my Maverick, but it's the NOCO low voltage connector. I also have a quick-connect plug on my riding mower, where the NOCO is usually connected to maintain FLA battery health. If properly maintained, 12v FLA batteries may last much longer than their rated life.

My '23 Hybrid XL has never gone into battery saver mode.

Same lock on Maverick. If you double lock with either fob, keypad, or door handle it shut the delay off items a little bit sooner.

If the battery is severely sulfated, no charger will be able to reverse that permanent damage. Even in less severe cases of sulfation it is questionable the success of a de-sulfation attempt. By the time the undercharging of the battery has brought on the deep sleep problem in the hybrid Maverick's 12v battery, the battery is likely beyond recovery.

When I got my tremor, I drove it home and had 65 miles on it, I put my noco g5 on it. AH almost to the 24 hr rating of noco. It took 2+ days to charge and another 6 days to optimize. (Brand new battery?). I sold that truck for other reasons as I had one too many and CarMax offered more than my 2022 hybrid XLT lux. In any case regular use of maintainer will recover the "soft" sulfation at least. I have 30 months on my XLT and 3800 miles. Sees the Noco every 60-90 days since I can go over a week without driving it. I will open door every few days and put noco on if done light does not come on. I can drive it 40+ miles and after an hour battery will show 12.4+. Never have seen deep sleep.

You should NEVER run de-sulphation mode with the battery still connected to the computers. The de-sulphation mode runs pretty high voltage pulses into the battery and these will probably damage the computers.

Noco has the higher voltage "repair mode" separate and you have to remove the battery from the vehicle to run it. The optimization mode with limited voltage pulses is automatic and is designed to run with battery in vehicle.
