With Ford replacing the spray in with a drop in on new lux package orders, does anyone know if the flex bed slots for 2x4 and 2x6 boards are still usable? Also any of the tie down points lost?

Bump for science, I’m curious now. Were droppies actually even available up to now? I don’t think I’ve seen a single one lol

Would be nice to know. Wasn't too keen when I heard I couldn't get the spray in, the drop in liner in my business partners F150 didn't last more than the few years.

Drop-ins suck, get a refund on the liner and put towards a spray in. Have had both over the years and will never use a drop in again, would rather roll with a sheet of plywood or a rubber matt.

It's included with the Lux package now, rather than the spray-in, you cannot just return it. You cannot order the XLT Lux package the spray-in anymore, Ford won't take the order. Just live with the drop in and put a spay in liner on when it's toast, that's likely what I'll do.

For all I know they might be
made better than they used to be as well.

The problem with drop in plastic liners is they are abrasive to the paint and trap moisture underneath promoting rust. I doubt there is much that can be done with the design to change that.

Even more reason to get a bed cover.

I just hated how hollow they seamed and slippery. I prefer to get a couple years use out of the stock painted bed and then get it sprayed with line-x

I cannot recall much about the drop in liner that was in my friends F150. It wasn't bad, don't recall it being slippery, but eventually we cut through it with shovels when moving soil/mulch and stuff out of the bed.

A bed cover might help minimally but it doesn't solve the problem. The abrasion comes from vibration where the liner contacts the truck bed and moisture can be condensation that doesn't evaporate.

Guess I'll have to get an aftermarket spray-in liner, don't want to have the bed rusting out, my vehicle is always parked outdoors.

The only real advantage to a drop in is it gives better protection from dents do to dropped and shifting loads.

You could always throw the drop in liner back in once you get the spay in done to rectify that issue. I assume it would still fit.
