Loving the size of this truck compared to the one I came from. Couldn’t bring myself to get rid of the Ranger, 216k and core still going strong but the niceties of a newer truck are very refreshing.

I do miss my buttons and physical controls, but it’s not hard to get used to the touchscreen

These trucks are night and day differences with the 25 having so much technical advances. Hope you are enjoying your new truck.

I still maintain the Maverick is the true successor to the Ranger when it comes to vehicle size! Should've called the Maverick the Ranger, and the current Ranger the F-100.

I've had two older Rangers like that, man they are bulletproof! Still kind of wish I had my '96!

I had a Ranger back in the 90s. Fit in my garage just fine. When I got my Maverick, I had at most 6" of clearance on each side of the garage door. Had to spend $6K to increase the width of my door.

I'm perplexed why all of these vehicles keep getting bigger. I have a house built in 1901 and a winter home built in 1970. Neither of these homes have garages big enough to hold these newer vehicles.

Which is insane considering the size of the boats that were called cars in the 50s,60s and 70s. Those wouldn’t have fit in the garage of the houses being built at the time

I saw a new 4-door ranger yesterday. Slightly raised with giant tires and a bed cap.

I thought it looked like an Expedition. It was a monster.

Sure am! Night and day really is the best way to describe it. I’m used to foot on the floor driving with the 2.3 manual now I get 30mpg with over double the HP. Now I need to throw a v8 302 in that Ranger haha

It's because of the perverse incentives of the CAFE rules. There are some interviews online where designers explain that they can't meet the rules and make money without going bigger and bigger. The rules penalize smaller vehicles, especially truck. A lot of us are hoping that the arrival of BEVs will bring back truly small trucks.

It's a classic story of government passing rules to do "A" and the result is "B".

Happy to hear that. You forgot the torque, ride, handling and a lot easier accessing the cab or the bed. I really appreciate the increased safety ratings.

I have a hard time talking myself out of taking it out on the road. I'm putting on more miles on the odometer since I got mine. I don't miss the body roll or the ride on my F-150. Best of luck with your new truck.

Kept my 2008 Ranger for a couple of years after buying my first Maverick. Finally had to sell it due to space issues. So sad. Was rust-proofed many times and was rust free. Someone got a real nice truck.
The Maverick is wider in the mirror department than the Ranger. I miss being unconcerned about the odd little bump or scratch (the Ranger and I survived a brush with a tornado). In the end, I just couldn't justify have two trucks and a car and having to move them around all the time to get the one I needed.

Oh man that’s pretty. I have a block sitting around from an old Tbird ready for turboing but I honestly can’t decide if going 302 or the 2.3T would be the move. Both are such good options
