So here’s what I did today. I wasn’t crazy about having to lose one of the tie downs when I installed the tail gate assist so I went and built ones that will fit and work with the assist. Only needed one but it would have drove me crazy having them mismatched, So I made 2. Made them out of stainless but I’ll probably powder coat them black so they don’t stand out as much.

I need a robot to lower my tailgate. I`m just that damn lazy.

I agree with Snoopcat...

I would buy these especially if you pair with the tailgate assist and powder coat black!!

Looks like 2 pieces and a weld, so, only way to make these with any sort of repetition is laser cut and press brake. Then there’s gotta be a fixture and welding. Then powdercoat.

all you guys saying $20/pair, sure in China. That’s probably a $40-50/pair at retail. Probably a realistic cost of $20, Plus finishing/pair if you were making 100+ pairs at a time.

I’ve done a fair bit of small batch manufacturing, shipped over 400 portable firepits out of my garage before the company got big enough to make me either quit my job or sell and keep it going. I sold.

I wanted tailgate assist but was going to skip it because of the loss of a "good" tie down... But if you'll sell these I'll take one for $20. (My OCD is not bad enough to need it to match the other side) Uncoated stainless is fine.

Add me to the list that would buy a pair for my (nonexistent) maverick.

Very nice! I probably won't get the damper, but when I watched the install video, this was my main concern!

Im glad someone understands. $20 is no where near profitable.

I think the aftermarket do-it-yourselfer's is going to get big between the Maverick and the Bronco. Now if someone can make me drop in subwoofer enclosures for under the back seats 😁

Yeah. I went through this with billet aluminum accessories for Ducati Monsters. Ok if you need a hobby, but no way to make money.

That said, showing us was a nasty tease...
