Custom Tailgate Tie Down That Work With Tailgate Assist Installed (Recovers Lost Tiedown)

So here’s what I did today. I wasn’t crazy about having to lose one of the tie downs when I installed the tail gate assist so I went and built ones that will fit and work with the assist. Only needed one but it would have drove me crazy having them mismatched, So I made 2. Made them out of stainless but I’ll probably powder coat them black so they don’t stand out as much.

Actually could just leave the other one to keep the bottle opener. Depends on the level of OCD I guess.

There was a guy on the Ranger 5g forums that 3d printed and sold glow in the dark rings to fit around the ignition key cylinder (before you ask, yes, the 2019+ ranger was sold WITHOUT the plastic part around the ignition cylinder...).

Anyway, bringing it up because OP - you have to make and sell these! Name your price, take orders and ship them once a week or once a month here or on ebay. I'll pay $13/piece or $20 a pair shipped!

You'll make and sell a lot more than you realize. Can you make 1,000 of these or more fairly easily? If it is a hobby and you get the process down, you'd make a bunch of us happy campers.

Saw that you posted in the Facebook group with a huge response of "I'll buy those", so you'd better get your eBay and Etsy stores set up.

Partner with the manufacturer of the piston kit and make a package deal. Better yet find someone who can make the piston assembly and one or the other of you buy the other's parts at wholesale cost, sell package at retail.

I'm bookmarking this for when my truck shows up in the spring.
