So I picked up my 2025 Maverick last Wednesday and seen over 35 miles on my truck which seemed oddly high. Seeing the first service entry upon getting to the dealership the odometer was at 17 miles. Then it had a second service entry the same day marked as tires and other and no data entered other than that, and the odometer was at 35 miles. So I inquired about this because that’s not a lot of miles but is at the same time. At first my dealer tried flat out claiming it only had 17 when I claimed but after showing proof that it was in fact over 35 he got back to me two hours later with a story that my truck had a check engine light and was idling at very high speed in park. This was the first I heard of any check engine lights coming on or any problems with the truck. No keep in mind it was sub 10 degrees that day. I personally feel if there really was an issue I should have been made aware of this before signing papers for the truck. But also a part of me thinks someone at the dealership took a long joyride in my vehicle and the story was fabricated about the engine issue. Not sure how I should feel about this.
Just saw Car and Driver article that says anything over 200 is cause for concern. The article gave 10-50 as average.

Mine had 40. Pretty sure they used it for a few test drives as they didn't have many on the lot. I checked it over real well and haven't worried since. Got 5K on it now.

See I’m more worried about the potential for my car to be a lemon since it was in production for 19 days with only a vague email during that time, then the service records showing the extra mileage made me question why, then finding out there was an engine problem upon its arrival at the dealership. I just feel like the dealership should be obligate to inform me of the issue it had and what it took to resolve it. I hope I don’t have further issues but if I do down the road at least I’d be informed of what it might be and have a record of it.
Have you looked for one of these👇👇

I remember watching service staff doing back lot wheelies in a 2 door AWD RAV4 back in late 1980s (I think). I was driving into the dealership unannounced planning to look at that exact vehicle. I kept on driving.

Some of these people are teenagers, even if they're 40+. Playing with your property and laughing at you is part of their crude animalistic existence. That's how it is. Not all of them. Not even most of them. But enough of them.

I never, ever, ever extend trust to anyone at an automotive dealership. I know that sounds harsh, but I have 50+ years of dealership interactions that has granted me plenty of lessons in "scumbaggery".
I was working on the service drive when mid afternoon a man called more than a little bent out of shape. His wife went out to lunch with the girls and saw their car sitting in front of one of the local strip clubs. The customer wanted to know WTF. I got to the bottom of it and it turned out that a few of the mechanics "test-drove" the car to the "Busybody Lounge" for lunch which was against company policy.

No I haven’t seen anything like that. Is it located on the vehicle?
Mine was on the back window (inside), driver’s side, kinda hidden behind the headrest. It was hard to see from outside the truck due to the tint. My truck had over 30 miles on it but was accounted for via the Q/C testing.

You know what, it's funny you say that because when I look at my car on the driver side on the back window behind the headrest there's something that looks like a sticker had been stuck there. But I never saw the sticker so I bet you mine had it and the service department took the sticker off And then when I asked the girl I bought it from why the mileage she wasn't sure. But like I said earlier I don't really care because it means nothing far as I'm concerned.

It could be in the glove compartment. It could be in the compartment underneath the rear seat.
I don't believe there's any set place for it to be and the dealership that detailed the car they may have actually thrown it out.

From the image in post 49, my sticker had the same vertical strips of sticky tape on the outer ends. My tag was probably 4 inches wide. I think I had to use some adhesive remover to get all the “sticky” off the glass. (This was a year and a half ago). Perhaps you can see evidence of that somewhere.

After I posted I went out and checked and sure enough in the exact spot that you said it would be there are two vertical sticky strips, or sticky spots where something was stuck to the window and it is almost the exact size of the pictures people are posting. So, mystery solved for me anyway.

Mine had 40 miles on it because it had paint damage from delivery. They had to drive it to a sister dealership the next state over to have the driver rear panel repainted. As long as it looks good and drives good you got a warranty for anything that comes up.

It’s too bad they threw it out. I’m glad I found mine cuz I was kinda pi$$ed initially to—that my custom truck was slightly “used.” Then I found the card after a day or two into ownership. It was my first new vehicle too. But I’m ok with some extra miles of QC testing at the factory. My dealer mentioned they had to drive it to put some gas in, but we’re talking only a couple blocks away.
