Love mine. Will have been three years in March, and paid off!
When I want to drive my "way cooler" vehicle, I drive my other Ford.

My maverick rides worse than the Flintstones car..... Lol. On anything other than perfectly paved roads it drives worse than my F150. I don't get how for a unibody car it is so rough suspension. I've owned everything from sports cars like my 2 corvettes to full sized trucks like my F150 with 35" mud tires and my maverick drives the worst out of all them. Even drives worse than my 4Runner TRD.

With that said I do love my MPG and my maverick was $23k out the door so I can't complain as it's just my commuter car.

Yes, I enjoy driving mine. It's a story that I won't get into here about how we ended up w/ an Escape but I when I started searching for one I knew I wanted as many of the bells n whistles as possible; they make the drive easier and more enjoyable and, damnit, I'm old enough and can afford it, I want those bells n whistles. I really like the Titanium and the hybrid so when the time came to replace my big 2500HD I started looking at the Mavericks. I've been disappointed in Ford that they didn't bring the Lariat up to the Titanium level and at first I thought it was because of it being a "truck." Now I understand that it's more along the lines of Ford's marketing plan to intro the Mav as a real "budget" ride. As evidenced by the addition of the hybrid AWD in MY '25, I predict that very soon many of the "missing goodies" like HID, park assist, and Homelink will be part of a package or standard on the Lariat or perhaps there'll even be a Titanium or Platinum version above the Lariat. But I digress... My Escape hybrid often gives me the feeling that I'm driving a zippy, quiet gocart and, other than sitting a bit higher, the Mav feels the same. Great little vehicle that I plan to own for a long time.

Only had my 25 Mav for an about 2 and a half weeks or so now (so I might be still in the honeymoon stage), but recently took if for an hour drive to see my gf, then helped a friend move about 45 min away, totaling about a 4 ish hour drive in the Mav all day. All I could think is 3 things.

1.) Damn this thing is comfortable

2.) The fact that I’m getting 36-37 mpg in this awd thing on straight highway is wild

3.) Man I love this thing

We’ll see if that changes😅

On well paved roads it is a nice driving vehicle without a doubt. On poorly maintained roads, pothole laced gravel roads not so much, on those surfaces I find it a rather unrefined to say the least.

Agreed on the heated seats and steering wheel, so nice to have on cold days. Love the cloth seats, after my last vehicle had the vinyl stuff (another brands version of Active X), never again.
You either need better tires, or more speed. I think my truck is ok at best on pavement but does great in gravel roads. Especially at higher speeds.

I like this post.
I agree I have a lot of vehicles. All across the board. And the one I jump into the most and my wife also is always the maverick. It’s easier around town than the f-150. It as the op said all around. When I drive it I’m always content. From hauling off roading I like it.
I do need to get skid plates and new exhaust. Exhaust got bent a bit while off-roading in Texas hills two weeks ago. But I will buy another as soon as this one quits.

Agree on the seats. Main reason I went with the XLT fully loaded over the Lariat with the pleather. I liked the seats in my Bronco Sport. Lariat seat material wasn't as nice. The Lariat seats just felt cheap to me and like they would crack eventually. Just a preference I guess.
Those Bronco sport cloth seats are really nice. I carpooled to a hockey game the other day in a Bronco Sport and was impressed by them.

I do kind of feel the same way about the Lariat seats, if I purchased new I probably would have gone XLT + seat covers (or just left the cloth seats). Time will tell how the Lariat seats hold up, I miss the marine grade "pleather" seats of my OBX Bronco.

I'm guessing you have an AWD Maverick, they have a different suspension than the FWD. Faster is worse. 🤣 I'm not buying AT tires for the once a year I might go on a gravel road.

My previous daily driver was an '87 Mustang GT with a manual tranny & HD clutch, so stop-&-go in heavy freeway traffic was pretty painful. I "really" love the Maverick hybrid's buttery smooth powertrain in such conditions. I average over 45 MPG, so that's a major win too. All in all, it's a pleasure to drive., and I enjoy it quite a lot. However, it does have a few warts. The seats really hurt my bum after an hour or two, and Ford cannot seem to write stable, robust software. The HVAC changes settings on its own. The fuel filler door popped open when I was loading gear into the bed. The 12V battery needs periodic charging. The infotainment system's inability to handle incoming RCS messages from my Android 11 phone make the whole system worse than useless to me. The impediments to trivial customization are annoying. e.g. Swapping an incandescent light bulb for an LED should not involve jumping thru hoops because the developers never expected this. One other gripe I have is Ford's secrecy in the concept of operations and design of things like the hybrid's emissions & engine controls and service brakes. How can I start and idle the engine for testing? There's very little info in the pricey Helm service manual like there's been in the past. Clearly, I'm a fan of the Right-to-Repair, and Ford is not. All in all, though, I love my Maverick.

The seats in my OBX were much better quality than the Lariat.

I don't enjoy driving my Maverick, and I haven't enjoyed driving it since I bought it two years ago. That doesn't mean I disrespect it. Just that to me it's a boring, functional appliance that goes from A to B in comfort and without drama. I respect it for what it is, but I don't exactly giggle when I open the door.

I did enjoy driving my three Miatas over a forty year period.

Yes , I enjoy driving my Maverick . It is by far the best commuter vehicle I've ever owned.
73,000 miles on the 22 xlt before giving it to my son. I like the 25xlt a tad more.

Dumb generic post, but I was driving around this weekend and thought "you know, I really do enjoy driving this truck".

I've had way "cooler" vehicles that were more performance/luxury oriented, but the Maverick handles/drives so well. Every time I hop in I'm content.

I was on the highway, backroads, and in stop/go traffic over a long trip today and not once got sick of being in the truck for an extended amount of time. There's a sweet spot with this truck that's hard to describe.

I also really enjoy the features of the Lariat package in my Tremor. The seats rock, plush but firm. The B&O sound system is great. It's cold AF out here in the northeast and the heated function in the seats/steering wheel do not disappoint. The AWD system has also rocked while the roads are slick.

Feeling grateful tonight I guess!
That’s awesome! I’m patiently waiting for mine. Hoping no more than 6 weeks away, but it is so great to hear that you really enjoy it! Best of luck with it!!!
