Waving at other Mavericks on the road

I'm sure this subject has been discussed in other threads, but I haven't been able to locate one. I've noticed that as you see more Mavericks on the road now, the drivers are less likely to wave like they did two years ago when I took delivery of my '23 Lariat. I still wave, but more often than not the other drivers are either staring straight ahead or don't acknowledge.

I still wave. I also yell "MAVERICK" whenever I see one. My kids and wife are not impressed anymore.

Nope, I do not wave at other Mavericks, but I do point my finger and laugh when I see a Santa Cruz.

I've only had mine a couple months, so it's a novelty me, and an novelty to see others on the road, so I've been waving when I see other Mavericks. Nobody has waved back yet. The first guy I waved at was picking his nose. Oh well.

It’s not as much a thing as it once was. The last time another Maverick owner waved at me was at least 6-8 months ago.

I've posted about this before, but figured I would "out" just how lame I am. I have a Maverick "twin" that I sometimes see in the parking garage at the light rail/bus station. Same color, etc.. Back when the Mav was still fairly rare, I organized a meetup of folks from here on MTC, and figured I better invite my twin as well. I wrote up a note trying to explain that I was not some sort of stalker, how there was a forum called mavericktruckclub.com, and how we were going to have a meetup. Left my email and phone number in case they wanted to chat. Sure enough I got an email. They said that when they saw the note on their windshield, they assumed someone had hit them in the parking lot or something and were providing insurance info. They were relieved to see it was nothing that serious. They didn't show up to the meetup, but it was worth a shot. Now when I see them in the parking garage, I flash my highbeams at them and wave.

I have one of those football stadium fireworks mechanisms on my Maverick. I fire it off every time I pass another Maverick. Only been arrested a few times.

I always wave or give a toot on my horn to acknowledge another Mav. Common courtesy...just like the Greyhound drivers do...LOL

The first person to spot an air cooled VW still calls out "beep beep" in my family.

The adult kids roll their eyes, except when they're the first one to spot it and call it out triumphantly!

No one has ever waved around here. I got my maverick in late December 2021. Nobody cared and I'm perfectly happy with that.
