We got about 6 to 7" of snow here in SE Indiana over the weekend.

My new (November '25) XL, AWD, EB, 4K handled it like a champ. I drove to work in the midst of the storm and saw cars off in the ditch on the way. Very glad I put new Kelly Safari AT tires on it last week.

What had me most concerned when coming home was attempting my untreated driveway. My driveway is 150 yds long and has an incline of about 20 degrees. It also has a tendency to drift over. Went right up it without a hitch.

I went out the next day after the storm and back roads were icy/slushy. I did not slide or spin once as I kept it in "Slippery" mode.

This vehicle is by far the most sure-footed and capable vehicle on snow I've ever owned, especially with the Safari tires. For what we typically encounter around here in Winter I believe it will prove to be more than adequate.

Very pleased with my new "Sure-Foot" Mav!

Yup, I agree!

I’ve been driving through a lot of snow in northern MN with my 25 XLT AWD and it performs like a champ, and with the factory tires.

My previous drive was a FWD car. The Maverick handles everything I drive through. I AWD is the ticket!

Best snow car I ever owned was a 1960s VW Karmann Ghia with summer tires. That engine weight located right over the narrow rear bias ply tires plowed through snow well past the bumpers in NW PA winters. It was literally a snow plow.

OTOH, I did have to patch the driver side floorpan with soup cans, as it rusted througn in two years. And the heater system was basically a passive air duct to the air cooled engine. Here's to modern climate control systems.

I couldn’t agree more. I have owned Jeep wranglers/gladiators, f-150/250, Chevy Colorado, Tesla model 3 and Y and I have to say the maverick does the best in snow. I had to drive from Missouri to Memphis in an ice storm for work and was very impressed with what this truck can do.

Ford Maverick Pleasantly surprised by Mighty Maverick vs. Snowstorm. Snowstorm loses! IMG_3384

Pleasantly surprised with the factory continentals on our mav.even with almost 40,000 miles they handle our northern michigan winters well!

I haven't had to test that yet and hopefully won't have to test frozen conditions anytime in the near future but its good to know. I have put mine in slippery mode a couple times during heavy rain. It hugged the road well and felt very solid. I dont want any frozen stuff but part of me does just so I can check it out.

We only had about 5-6" down on the weekend, but it was going through it all right, needed a firm hand to keep from rut following where traffic had been, but that might vary by tire and load. Found a couple of corners where I could toss it in and give it a tap on the gas to bring the back round (AWD) great fun.

i have 28000 on my Continental pro contact tires and had no problems in south western Ohio. being retired I waited till the snow melted. If I was 30 years younger I would be having road fun

I find the Mavericks AWD system to be on par with that of Subaru - which is a compliment. However at the end of the day it is a FWD bias AWD system that cannot lock into 4WD (unless Tremor) and has open/limited slip differentials that apply brake force to the wheel that is slipping to force power to the wheel with more traction.

It's far from the best vehicle I've had for the snow but with the Wildpeak AT Trails it is more than sufficient.

I've been quite critical of certain choices Ford has made, but the AWD system is simply phenomenal. Literally zero complaints from me in 4 years that I've owned mine.

With more capable tires made for snow or all terrains, it's even better.
