The point of my original post was not about difficulty using a clutch. It was to point out it is her experience rather than being a female causing her difficulties driving the maverick. It usually doesn't take 110 pounds of pressure to push a clutch in an 18 wheeler. My dad was a truck driver...
It diesnt take 110 pounds to move a clutch. I learned to drive on manual transmissions and tractors. Ive owned several vehicles with manual transmission. It sounds like you are talking about messed up brakes in this reply.
Your driving experience and your finding a truck dificult isnt because of being a woman. Its your specific driving experience. You said it when you stated you are attempting to be a better driver. I am a woman. I grew up on a farm/ranch. I've driven an old one ton with manual...
The last one I got a few years ago I was able to repair myself with one of the kits at Walmart. I could barely tell it was there afterwards. A few years later it became noticeable again so I just used one of the repair kits and again it was not really noticeable. And most importantly, it never...
My 24 fx4 did great in the ice. My sister has a steep driveway that I drove up like it was a normal warm day while my sister couldn't get up her driveway coming home from work. Every day I find more reasons I love my Maverick.
Im glad I didnt buy mine in Louisiana. The last time I bought a car in Shreveport was 25 years ago. I live in Texas. No problems then. I have a coworker who lives in Louisiana. Bought a car last year in Texas, anf no issues. Guess that doesn't help you. Since Texas no longer has temporary...
I have a 2024 Lariat ecoboost. I love it. Her name is Baby Truck. I am using premium gas and averaging 32 mpg driving moderate speeds around 65 mph mostly highway miles. My top average mpg driving a long distance trip on freeway was 34 mpg driving mostly 70 on that trip. Using premium gas...
Currently the base Bronco Sport is $31000 and the base Maverick is $28000. But also the base Bronco Sport is a 1.5L 3 cyl. The base Maverick is a 2.0 L 4 cyl. Giving you a few more bells and whistles for a higher price and a smaller power train isnt better. I wouldnt trade the slightly lower...
I had a 160 mile round trip on January 1. Got 34 mpg on that trip mostly highway at 70 mph and have been averaging 33 since then with some stop and go but still mostly highway. The only thing I can attribute to the mpg getting better is I switched to only 93 octane about 4 tanks back so now...
I got an average of 32 mpg on a 340 mile round trip this past weekend! My Maverick is a 2024 with a gas powered ecoboost engine. Much of this was 70 mph highway but with some city stop and go miles during the drive to and while at my destination. I'm very happy with my Maverick.
Don't be fooled though. This baby is small but tough and mighty like Bambam on the Flintstones. Maybe thats what I should have named her. but my truck is a girl. Bambam is a boy LOL
Same for me about half my cars have been manuals. I really enjoy a drive shifting through gears. I was dead set on my next car being a stick shift to have a vehicle that I enjoy driving.. But I also liked the practicality of the Maverick and i liked the way they look. I was surprised how much...
My 2024 is last of 2024 production. I am getting excellent gas mileage generally driving 65-70 mph which is moderate on our highways here with speed limits between 75 and 85. But I havent been on any of the 80-85 mph stretches since I got it. Daily commute with idling for stops, car washes...
